Geale says Golovkin will be his next fight if they can make it happen. That’s good news for Aussie boxing fans. Wood says he has to shake Geale’s hand, great workrate, angles, says he’ll continue to take on anyone. Doesn’t really answer questions of his future.

Wood’s corner stops the fight. He’s taken too much punishment and is probably the correct decision given some of the shots he’s taken tonight. GEALE win by Rd 7 stoppage! Looked good and some big fights ahead of Daniel Geale.
Geale vs Wood: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard
ROUND 6 – Wood is tough. He continues to fight. Big heart, not in the same class as Geale though. Geale continues to work away and find the chin of Garth easily. Wood pinned up against the ropes and Geale scores well to the body and upstairs also. To his credit Wood fights back but he’s in trouble yet again. Wood is somehow hanging in there and he gets thrown to the canvas, which the referee calls it a knockdown. Bit harsh, wasn’t a scoring punch. GEALE 10-8

ROUND 5 – Wood goes to the canvas after getting locked in a wrestle with Geale, no knockdown obviously. Geale gets back to work straight away and continues his dominance. Geale doubles the jab. Wood lands a couple but no power on them at all. Better round for Wood again, he’s starting to control the centre of the ring but isn’t really scoring with any punches. Just as I say it Wood gets stung with a nice right hand and Wood goes down again. Wood is up at 7. Fight continues and Geale wants to get out of here, bell sounds and they continue punching after the bell! Wood is in big trouble! GEALE 10-8

ROUND 4 – Wood is doing well to stay in this fight. You sense he’s only a couple of good shots from being put away. Wood starting better this round, getting some nice body work in. Wood goes a bit low himself, called accidental. Wood firing out his jab which is preventing Geale from just firing away with ease like he has done previously. Geale going to the body again. Much better round for Wood but still a Geale round. GEALE 10-9

ROUND 3 – Into Round 3 we go. Geale is just scoring at will against Wood. Wood scores a nice jab and Geale laughs and scores a couple of nice shots in return. Geale again doing some nice work to the body. Wood is really playing into the hands of Geale as he continues to come forward and stand right in front of Geale. Geale doesn’t have to go too far to find him. GEALE 10-9

ROUND 2 – Geale landed about 5-6 big shots at end of last round, would take some time to find your legs again. Geale starts where he left off in the last round with Wood in trouble again. Geale with some nice shots again, looks like Geale wants an early night in this one. Wood landing only 1-2 shots at a time, Geale throwing some lovely combinations. Geale backs up Wood once more. Wood claims a low blow and takes some time to get back to his feet. Geale lands a great hook that rattles Wood. Wood keeping Geale honest with his jab. Wood goes down and takes a knee, Wood claims a low blow and referee agrees. Referee takes a point from Geale. Wood has five minutes to recover after a low blow and he seems to be taking all of it. Back on, and end of the second round. WOOD 9 – GEALE 9

Wood reluctant to touch gloves beforehand. Here we go!
ROUND 1 – Tentative start, Wood firing out a couple of jabs. Geale goes searching for Wood early. Geale lands some shots early. Wood on the backfoot. Both men get a warning for a bit of rought stuff on the inside. Wood gets a nice right hand through the Geale defence and Geale answers back with a couple of nice shots. Geale has Wood with a big rip to the body and Wood goes down in the corner. Wood takes a knee, take a long time to get up and does so at the count of 9. Wood in big trouble and only the bell saves him from getting stopped as Geale is on the attack again as bell sounds. GEALE 10-8

Daniel Geale now in centre ring. Geale should take this fight, but Wood is a spoiler and can really make it hard. Huge heart, unlikely but don’t count him out.

Garth Wood first man into the ring, looks in great shape. Has left no stone unturned into his training. Badly wants a World Title shot.

ROUND 2 – Gallen comes out firing and again looking to slowing the big Purcell up. Only going four rounds so he needs to get going here. Purcell with a lovely rip to the body which slows up Gallen a little and Gallen comes back and fires in some body shots of his own. Gallen scores a lovely uppercut and is now teeing off as Purcell fires back. Gallen jabbing, doubling the jab and Gallen hits an absolute ripping uppercut which Purcell eats it and comes forward! Wow, Gallen is landing some bombs. Nice short hook from Gallen. Gallen raining down shots, six or seven unanswered and the referee is in and calls it off. GALLEN by TKO! What a round.

Purcell giving some serious heat at the stare down. Certainly not intimidated.
ROUND 1 – Gallen fires out a jab to start us. Purcell winds up and throws some big shots, but none of them land. Gallen decides to throw some back and this one is on. Gallen has thrown the technique out the window in the first thirty seconds. Gallen is down!!! Purcell with a looping right hand and looks hurt. Gallen slowly gets to his feet and beats the count and is marked under his left eye. Gallen gets back to the basics, keeping his hands high and jab out. Gallen trying to go to the body and slow the big fella down. Gallen is just getting muscled around the ring. Purcell looks like a giant. End of round. PURCELL 10-8

Paul Gallen makes his way to the ring with Puff Daddy’s “Come with Me” playing him in. Full pre-season mode for Gallen and he’s looking very fit as you can imagine. Here we go. Gallen has been very willing in his charity fight efforts, this one could be very interesting!

And we’re back, as Herman Ene Purcell comes to the ring. Of course he has had 2 fights, 1 win, 1 loss. Lost on points after 3 rounds on debut and 1st round KO last up. Most big name fighters from NRL don’t seem to fight anyone that decent first up,like Sonny Bill Williams but I’ve been told this guy has got a big punch. Time will tell.

ROUND 10 – Commentators have this fight a lot closer than I do, some close rounds for sure, but Berridge in control for mine. Foley’s trainer Adam Watt threatens to pull his fighter out if he doesn’t start getting a little busier in there. He answers his trainers call, scoring to the body. Berridge also tiring seems to just be throwing single shots. Berridge throws at Foley and Foley seems to stop and feels his hand like he’s done damage, sets himself and starts again and Berridge comes racing at him firing away and Foley takes a knee. Referee starts at count and Foley’s trainer is up and throws in the towel. BERRIDGE takes it by TKO in R10. Great fight by these two again!

ROUND 9 – Into Round 9 we go and things starting to get a little nasty in there. Both are starting to feel the pinch a little bit. Both are just looking to load up a little bit. Close close round not a lot of action in it. Foley just throwing out his pitter patter punches and both have just planted themselves on each others chest. Berridges comes in with a nice flurry to end the round that might just steal it in the judges eyes. BERRIDGE 10-9

ROUND 8 – Kicks off with news that the main event is on! Anyway, in ring action sees Berridge land a good shot which forces Foley back into the ropes. Foley comes right back and goes a little low. Berridge answers back with a huge uppercut, Foley sends one back, now Berridge! This is insane. Both men exchange again and this starts to get a little wild. Nice combo from Berridge, both men fire some huge shots as the bell sounds and Foley hits after the bell, which sends Berridge’s corner into the ring. WOW BERRIDGE 10-9

ROUND 7 – We’re into the second half of this fight. Surely we cannot go the distance with the damage each man is giving to the other. As I write Berridge lands a big bomb that wobbles Foley and he cant find his footing and goes down. Foley gets up at 5, but still looks wobbly. Berridge goes in for the kill and Foley is looking to hold. Berridge back on top and eats an uppercut for good measure. Berridge lands a couple more shots. Nice body work from Berridge. He answers back nicely after the knockdown, another round for Berridge. BERRIDGE 10-9
Geale vs Wood: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard
ROUND 6 – Berridge lands a solid uppercut on Foley. Foley answers back with a huge right hand and Berridge goes down! Wow! Berridge doesn’t look in too much trouble and gets to his feet well before the count but will that turn the tide? Both men are trading punches and Foley is the one dictating things for the first time tonight. Lands some good shot on Berridge as Berridge answers back, we’re back to where we left off in their first fight. FOLEY 10-8
Geale vs Wood: Fight preview, live updates, round-by-round scores plus undercard
Meanwhile in Round 5, Berridge still controlling things. This is probably his most definitive round scoring a lot more freely as Foley continues to slow and his ring rust is certainly slowing. But as I write that Foley comes forward and tags Berridge with a big shot and both men are going toe to toe and Berridge is in a bit of trouble here. Berridge pinned against the ropes and now he is swinging for the fences trying to find a finish. Great round. Close! Berridge dominated the first half, would probably just give it to him, but Foley’s best of the fight. BERRIDGE 10-9

There is an issue over the gloves. Contracted to wear Everlast gloves, 10 ounce. Wood camp says Geale camp wants them to wear different gloves. Geale camp say gloves are too thin over the knuckles, disputing whether they are genuine from Everlast factory as Wood camp claims. Both camps confident they will sort it out. Australian Boxing is never without it’s drama.

ROUND 4 – Berridge hit with a good body shot by Foley. Foley goes a little bit low and referee lets it slip. Berridge hurts Foley with a right uppercut straight up the middle. Foley comes back with a nice right hand that rocks Berridge a little. Nice right hook by Berridge as Foley starts to get caught with a few shots. Berridge comfortably handling Foley at this point. Still very early, but if he can continue finding Foley he may start to slow down even more. BERRIDGE 10-9
