2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or shortlist: Messi, Ronaldo, or Ribery?
It seems Brazil has decided where its vote will go…..this year……..Lance.net, one of the most prestigious sporting publications in South America, organized the vote among Brazilian footballers, coaches and journalists to choose the best player in the world. 58 people voted and, using the same system as in the Ballon d’Or award, the winner was Cristiano Ronaldo with 179 points ahead of Messi (156) and Ribery (89).

Germany coach Joachim Low has refused the chance to vote in the Ballon d’Or this year, the German football association (DFB) has revealed. He has done so to aviod favoring anyone as the results of voting are made public. This raises a good debate as to whether the results of the individual votes should be revealed as it embarrases and makes coaches and players exposed to their preferrence…and does create tension
2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or shortlist: Messi, Ronaldo, or Ribery?
punter mate, i do agree the Inesita and Xavi, factor, but of recent times, they have been subdued, especially Xavi…..however, when you watch Messi for Argentina, he is improving in every game, he is literally winning them games, i bet if this tem played the COPA AMerica today, they will win the tournament…Sabella..has brought DiMaria and Gago and company to ensure, that Messi does what he does best…its to attack…

2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or shortlist: Messi, Ronaldo, or Ribery?
UEFA president Michel Platini has admitted the vote this year is the “hardest in history” – with all three players enjoying fantastic 2013’s.
I dont know about Ballon d’Or history, for those who do, do you agree with them, or is it one of his fling words….as usual

2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or shortlist: Messi, Ronaldo, or Ribery?
Ronaldo was quoted in the daily Mail
“I think it’s not the most important thing in a career. Maybe it’s important for many players, I understand that, but it’s just an individual trophy, there are things that are more important than that, like having a fantastic career and winning things for your club.
It’s just one more trophy, so it’s good, but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t win it. I can think of many great players who deserved to win the Ballon d’Or but never did, so it’s just a trophy”
Can you believe if this is true??
2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or shortlist: Messi, Ronaldo, or Ribery?

Another thought comes to mind…its who votes that decides….captains/coaches and media….so interestingly what if the coaches and captains…decide to vote their favorite..from the last few years…yeh….and thats Messi………for you

Early FIFA World Cup predictions: Argentina to triumph
i second this comment, the ranking is based on merit. I would agree that those teams are not the power house, however its merit over name.
Why Belgium and Switzerland should not be seeded
The biggest question i have in all this is….why was Moyes picked to succeed Fergie. Out of the many coaches out there…why Moyes, he doesnt have any records of major win……so now teams like new castle, everton,…..who havnt won at old trafford in ages…20-30-40 years are now breaking the record…Also think about how Manchester will be able to attract best players..with the current coach and manchester lookingly likely to miss out on champions league..it would be hard to attract!!
Moyes not the only one to blame
Brazil, are a different kettle of fish at home…and infront of the samba crowd would be handful for any team, if you look across their team, all their players are budding and injury free(majority)…..they are best acustomed to the weather…..hard to argue any thing else than at least a minimum of semi-final place at the least
