Good question, Fionn.

Super Rugby semi-finals: All eyes on the (sur)prize

Yes indeed and what, if I may ask, happened to the other four in our conference, Chooksy?

Also, what happened to the gang four after the Chairman passed on?

As Davis said, “a fool and his money are soon parted”.

Thanks Brett and your gang of four.

It’ll be the Brumbies by plenty, now that the Jaguares have made some drastic change in the team set-up by fielding the same team for the 2nd week in row for the first time ever this year (right, Nobes?). Hard to go past Fainga’a scoring the first try.

Reece to score the first and by plenty tries for the Saders.

I don’t like the Saders but I do want them to win so the Brumbies could pay them a visit next weekend and do them in slow and win by 2.

Go da Brumbies…

Super Rugby semi-finals: All eyes on the (sur)prize

This is not the game to introduce radical change in the team set-up, Nobes. Brumbies by plenty then with Fainga’a to showcase the 1st try in the semis, followed by Richie the Mo’unga in the second game.

I wasn’t aware of the ‘resting’ of Tahs players until way after posting, J, and have to concede on this one then.

Top four sorted, next four might not change either

“though pack is weak by comparision to both Brumbies and Crusaders”

Agreed and is why I don’t like the ‘by plenty’ team’s chances of beating the Saders should they meet in the final.

Take note, Michael Cheika: Canberra must be the Wallabies' power base in 2019

Joseph Manu of the Roosters, Wal? I read somewhere that he grew up in Tokoroa

True indeed

I get the same treatment too, Carlos

Not sure about the Landers winning on the weekend with Marty on the bench, Wh.

Top four sorted, next four might not change either

Given the Landers have only won 3 games at home with 3 draws (ok, they had no choice over one), they might struggle to go past another draw next weekend. Marty Banks must IMO start at 10 for a chance to win. It’s hard to see a BP though.

I can’t see that by-plenty team doing it for sure. On current form, the Jaguares should be able to do it but they must turn up ready to play for 100 minutes.

Six talking points from Super Rugby Round 17

People can have contrary views, C-C, and that should be viewed as a positive development because people are engaging and talking about the game we all love.

In the meantime, the Jaguares have evolved and discovered the formula for success in playing super rugby over vast distances, something we thought that might elude them for a few more years to come.

I like your thinking Anibal with a second team based in Sau Paulo if a non-URBA team is not fully supported for whatever reason.

I am guessing that Rugby Argentina might be reluctant to let such an opportunity for a 2nd team slip by, ofc. If then, your proposal of “25 from Argentina, 5 Brasilians, 15 Uruguay/Chile/Rest os South America” sounds like a pretty good outside the box thinking to me. I love it. May it become a reality.

The Blues should poach Ereatara Enari from the Saders. He’s one of the few HBs in super rugby that doesn’t seem to require to take a step and gather momentum before passing. I love watching him play.

“The leaking to the media has been going on for ages and seems almost part of their standard processes.”

I guess they’ve (ie if they are guilty as alleged) learned from the best, SMI. It is after all the modus operandi of Australian governments from year dot, I guess. For example, the AFP still needs to explain why they called off their investigation into the leaks over the medevac bill (that the government turned in it’s favour) from within their own department (Home Affairs) and possibly their own Minister’s office.

The Landers haven’t been playing that well at home, though, DA

This is rather ridiculous! You won the battle 8 years ago and still these Kiwis can’t get over it. Very childish behaviour indeed.

Not necessarily, Ralph. I guess I was pointing out that some people do suffer when they are made/pressured to go through some seemingly medical/scientific attempt to right a ‘wrong’ because of “.. traits they have no control over?”
