I'm a South Australian now living in Chicago, IL. Always dealing with questions about our fauna... A firm believer in not abiding by regionalism when it comes to supporting a franchise. Boston Red Sox, Chicago Blackhawks and New York Giants.

Being a Knicks fan this is usually my favourite time of the year… I can’t help but think this is just another “here we go again moment”.
Here’s to hoping this time it actually pays off.

30 days to Rio: The best sports team of all time?
I was stoked to see Ice Hockey played in Australia. Since moving to Chicago I’ve been to a handful of Blackhawks games and maintain that it’s probably the most exciting of the Big 4 sports here to see live.
Plus hockey jerseys are the coolest.
Sydney’s Wayne Gretzky ice hockey classic was a great showcase
Yes you’re right Swampy. I suppose what’s more curious is that his percentages are down, but really it’s a testament to how good a player he is when we assume he is playing poorly… Yet one game he scores 38! The standards we have for him are ridiculous.
Reflecting on Game 5 and looking forward in the NBA Finals
Sorry you didn’t like them Ryan. Perhaps you’ve got some alternative ones?
A cynical guide to advertising on NBA jerseys
I’ve been going to the Adelaide Oval since I was a 5 year old as a SACA member and it wasn’t really well received when the redevelopments were announced and the “football ferals” would be there. It was thought that it would go from old school boutique to a cookie cutter design.
While I really, really yearn for the old Adelaide Oval – it’s hard to deny how much better it ended up being. The state was petrified that it would be a failure, but it’s a booming success.
There is something remarkable about the MCG, and it really is in the echelon of best stadiums in the world, but it feels cavernous at times. It really doesn’t have the add-ons that Adelaide Oval has (especially in terms of facilities for its members).
Roar and Against: The Adelaide Oval is Australia's best sporting venue
Yeah I agree about Waiters and Kanter each having a great series.
Waiters was especially good on Leonard.
San Antonio, this year's second-best side, bows out before conference finals
They want a Vegas NFL franchise (Raiders).
The $4 billion question: Is the UFC being sold?
White said today on The Dan Patrick Show that they weren’t considering a sale, but when such a high amount for anything is offered “… of course you’re going to listen…” I think they’d be crazy not to sell now.
The $4 billion question: Is the UFC being sold?
Oops! Patrick Sharp.
Washington do look like they’ve finally got a team to win it all.
Washington v Dallas final?
2016 Stanley Cup playoffs: Talking points
I must admit that I smiled when the Ducks went out. Pity it was to the Predators-the thugs on skates.
The Blackhawks will retool and shift out the signings from February. A lot of us Hawks fans are worried about Andrew Shaw being retained, or if he’ll join Andrew Sharp and Brandon Saad. Hopefully not on Dallas’ team…
I know you’re a Rangers fan, but I’d love to see the Islanders win it. They’ve been down so long! It would be so great for them and the city.

“If you were going to hire somebody for a job, would you hire them knowing they took drugs on a regular basis?”… What media outlet reported that Tunsil took drugs on a regular basis?! Sounds like a badly conceived assumption here.
Laremy Tunsil deserves no pity
Do you know how much College athletes have to practice on top of studying?
It’s not like they can say “I’m skipping the second part of the two-a-day because I have to work a shift at…”!!!
It’s part of their athletic scholarship to be at all practices/sessions AND maintain a certain grade level. To simply say “… Go and get a job” is not only dismissive but totally uninformed on the plight of many student athletes.
Laremy Tunsil deserves no pity
“Serviceable”, “solid” – “semantics”?
I think if you go back and have a look at Super Bowl winning teams you’ll see more great quarterbacks are at the heart of that team than great defenses.
Defensive efficiency statistics often are directly correlated with “time on field”. The less time on the field, the less chances the opposition gets to score. And one position is usually more responsible for that than any others.

The taking of money was for his mum’s electricity bill, and linking his marijuana incident with a rape case is not right at all.
College athletes certainly get the benefits of a scholarship, but it’s not exactly smooth sailing for them. There have been numerous accounts of what kids are doing just to eat 3 meals a day, despite being on an athletic scholarship. They make millions for their university but have very little to show for it. Tunsil is one of hoards of student athletes who took what the ncaa deems as payment, when really it’s simple desperation.
I refuse to see this incident as anything more than a kid who made a mistake, and someone is being awfully vindictive toward him.
Laremy Tunsil deserves no pity
Fair call re. the Center’s role. Forgot they often call the protection shifts etc.

Geez… I wonder who the source for the video may have been. Also now someone’s put up Facebook chats between him and someone else which alludes to NCAA violations.
Someone is rather salty with him. And it’s pretty unfortunate for the kid.
Bong-smoking footballer picked up in NFL draft
ESPN’s Skip Bayless was trolled today on Twitter by Curry himself for implying similar things about the Warriors title run last year that you’re writing about. I don’t think luck applies much when you’re a No.1 seed and then go on to win the title. You earn the easy run.
Jordan wasn’t lucky in ’91 for knocking off the Lakers and Magic.
I prefer to see this Warriors team as a “changing of the guard”.
Where to now for the Golden State Warriors?
He obviously was doing something right if he took the starting role back from Osweiler after recovering from his injury. In terms of a player-coach, there wasn’t much better than Peyton.
God is a quarterback
I’d say that Dilfer was “generally solid” as a QB, but you’re right really. He was very average as a QB. They had a great running attack which carried a lot of the load for him. That defense was certainly the star component of the 2000 Ravens.
God is a quarterback
Cheers Hugo.
When GamePass added the condensed games feature it was a total blessing! Every play in 30mins was great!
It makes you realise how much filler the NFL actually has/needs.
I’ve always loved baseball and cricket for the sheer fact that it’s generally speaking, “relaxed” sport viewing. You can come and go, talk through the game etc. There’s more a social element to them for fans during the game. When you also associate these sports with the pleasant aura of summer… There will always be room for it with sports fans.
30 versions of one game
I’ll be in South Bend for the Miami game.
Michigan v OSU will be great this year… and Michigan will win it and it will cause a storm I think.
I was thinking the Texas game would be more interesting this year when they play Oklahoma (as opposed to Houston). Baylor would’ve been a big one too, but we all know what’s happened with that program over the summer.
