I love sport especially AFL. My greatest moment was being at the MCG in 2012 to see my beloved Swans triumph.

It is great to have AFL back, even better to have a round that isn't the best part of a month long. St Kilda…
essendon fans i know wont shut up about the kid, good luck to him, but bloody sick of hearing about him already
Bombers' Daniher tradition continues
i think 2-3 more wins and game time into the kids will make the year a success for hinkley, anything else is a bonus, you just feel they are building now
Can Port Adelaide restore the power?
the lions chairman has declared they are in trouble off the ground, they clearly are on. Crowds are down and sponsorship has fallen away and there is not much on the horizon i would argue, not sure they are a success, the afl needs to ensure gold coast develops but not at the expense of the lions.
the rubbish they dished up friday night in the prime slot was pretty poor, i doubt they will be seeing Friday night footy for a while
AFL expansion means boring, lopsided matches
The concept is dead, too many weak teams, or your stuck trying to get players and fans excited about the rest, all stars, others whatever you want to call them.
Where do you fit it in the schedule, the fixture is already compromised.
AFL State of Origin: let's get it going
As a swans fan the fact we performed so well without shaw mattner johnson lrt reid and tippett is promising.
Gary rohan may even come back as well
AFL top four locked in: 14 teams can't win flag
Tippett plays as he frees up Reid, goodes can be freed up to run around, it has no affect on Pyke or Mumford.
I doubt tippett takes a ruck tap unless others are injured.
Will Tippett get a run for the Swans?
umpires were pretty helpful to geelong early. Was a quality game, sydney missed LRT thought and i felt too many underperformed.
Interesting the response re sydney they sit 3-1, had a shorter pre season and have plenty of players who can lift, yet people already write the premiers off (not saying you are) as a swans fan im pretty condifent, we almost knocked off a good side in Geelong who played some bloody good footy inspired by the great joel selwood.
Though again half time free kick count sydney 7 joel selwood 4 😛 was hard to take at the time
Cats click at halftime to overcome Swans
Geelongs ability to continually be great is outstanding.
Cant deny Essendons performance in face of adversity, but i am not sold on them. The crows were flat and the dockers threw a game away, melbourne were witches hats and the saints are rubbish. You can only beat who you play, but I think Essendon have been up and about early now a few times, they started training a month earlier than the dockers and crows for instance who played finals. The real tests are yet to come, I will go out on an unpopular limb and predict they miss the 8 again, they just arent that good, a few people are performing out of their skins, eg carlisle and i still think stanton will be unable to maintain consistency.
just my views, but i enjoyed the article, well written.
A tale of the AFL's three undefeated teams
I was at the game, jetta was not working in to space like he did, maybe its extra attention, but i also think he is not working and running as hard as last year.
the best part is come round 12 they add Kurt Tippett which also makes like easier for Sam Reid
Sydney Swans are the Masters
Still plenty left to improve on for sydney, morton kicked 11 in the reserves, reid jetta and mumford can all lift for a start.
Tippett will free reid up

Do you think Brian Lake is the answer down back?
Can the Hawks take the next step in 2013?
Good read:)
I am a swans fan and i am iffy on our game. We have the wood over them, but have looked a bit proppy so far, i think it could be very close.
I am actually going to tip the suns personally, think brisbanes forwards looked non functioning last week
AFL Round 3 preview
Not claiming anything other than eddie is being hypocritical whinging the swans as premiers had an easy start with the first two games. Victorian sides outnumber interstate sides so because of this fact they all start ahead travel wise.
Anyway seems a bit rich to whinge the 2012 premiers have it easy when as the champs they started a flag defence with 14 home games. The swans would kill for the first 14 rounds in sydney this year.
He is right to call for fairness, it just works both ways, everyone ideally needs the same amount of travel and to play each other home and away the same amount of times
A fair draw Eddie?
Thank you for your feedback i will take it on board.
The jumper issue is still an example of eddie in my opinion trying to use his influence to insist upon what another club should be doing or how the afl should treat them. North finally had someone step in and stand up for their traditional strip and went down like a lead balloon.
Collingwood did not invent anzac day football or the queens birthday. In its current format it was a part of developing the anzac game, but footy had been played on anzac day prior. The queens birthday also has been played without the pies, i believe its only since 2001 the afl started the regular fixture. Collingwood have been an integral part of both concepts since, but if the draw is to be fair i presume surely he proposes this games cannot be locked in stone and the exposure needs to be shared evenly, would be the fair option, you cannot demand other teams settle for whats fair but insist you have locked in blockbuster games each year.
I acknowldged they let melbourne host the game. Its not donating the game, it is not charitable, i do not think they take 0 dollars home for playing it. I am sure plenty of other sides would step in if allowed.
Most years collingwood have travelled less than other victorian sides and as this article is about eddie i did not go into every single club as a comparison, maybe i should of provided more data i thank you for this feedback, and i do acknowledge hawthorns tassie trips are also a bit of a bug bear, but the hawks president is not currently whinging about draw equality is he.
Playing essendon twice and carlton twice is no different to sydney playing gws twice is my point. Under the current system the swans always will, right now theres a skill gap, in a few years if gws become a powerhouse the swans will still play them twice, it will level out. Recent years quite often carlton and essendon have both been bottom teams, and as you point out at times collingwood were, swings and roundabout thats the point, sydney facing gws twice a year is the same as collingwood always playing essendon twice. Over a 10-20 year period both clubs fortunes will fluctuate.
I do thank you for the feedback and i will take some on board, but i think the basic premise that the president whinging has plenty of advantages his way is correct and i stand by that and believe most non collingwood people agree
A fair draw Eddie?
Good read, i like what lyon is doing. Were is morobito at mate?
The AFL's great west hype
So you havent bothered to look at how the cap works
Adelaide Crows aren't awful, just ordinary
