Dragons supporter since 1965

I’ve followed St. George since 1965 when I came to Sydney aged 12. My friends and I used to watch Graham Langlands captain-coach the team at Hurstville Oval after school. I’ve seen plenty of brilliant players and coaches come and go, but I have never seen my team play so woefully, so ineptly, so consistently, so oblivious to the trashing of their personal reputation and worth. Some of these guys may salvage some reputation, but that should have already happened THIS year!
Why on earth any playing group would allow their professional careers to be destroyed by a bereft, has-been, knuckle-head, pretend wanna-be “coach” is beyond my comprehension.
Who would want to join such a shambles?

The brutal questions Paul McGregor has to answer

Ground conditions = ?
Who will kick off = ?

Penrith Panthers vs St George Illawarra Dragons: NRL live scores

Sloppy ground conditions allowed the Tigers to put it into Storm. In these conditions, backlines rely more on the opposition slippng than their own slick footwork, & that will be a big test for Stanley AND Runciman having his 1st’s debut outside 5/8.
The poorer the conditions, the more likely that the team that kicks off and holds the opposition inside their own 25 from there will win (as the Tigers did), simply by doing the same thing over and over. Defending the line or running out from in-goal are next to impossible on a sloppy field. Unless, of course, the referees decide to play favourites. Again.

Stanley looks to slice through Panthers

In Origin 3 this year I want for only one thing ~ that either Greg Inglis keeps his tongue in his gob, or someone shoves it so far back that it appears from further down his anatomy. His tries are great and a pleasuer to watch, but his pathetic displays after scoring just make me sick.
And that’s my cheap-shot for the day.

Origin rivals fuming over cheap shots

I believe that all those fingers are, in fact, pointed upwards

Origin rivals fuming over cheap shots

does a flick-pass include the use of a knife?

+1 exactly

Raiders to kick ball dead to avoid Inglis

Whatever they’ve got, they’re holding it tight & pulling it hard

Telling the truth about State of Origin game 2

The toads seem to take it a hell-of-a-lot more seriously, that’s for sure. Either that, or in the state where distance is measured in beer cans consumed, they come from much further for the simple reason that it gives ’em more drinking time.

Telling the truth about State of Origin game 2

When the game’s all about the BIG $$$’s, game 3 needs to be a sell-out, so game 2 will always be a reversal of game 1. Simple enough?

Telling the truth about State of Origin game 2

I changed channels after the second try @10 minutes. Thurston’s pass to Boyd was one of the best passes you’ll ever see in NRL.
Queensland looked to be on and NSW looked “flat” in comparison, & that’s why I switched off.

Telling the truth about State of Origin game 2

Tate overdid it a bit with the agro big push. It’s not like it was a do-or-die situation that warranted such force.

Trent Merrin is no longer a butterly forward.

This should be a compulsory fitting for all NRL refs ~

Eels face $15,000 fine for Stuart outburst

If anyone brings the game into disrepute, it’s the ref’s & D Anderson. Ricky says Anderson has admitted to the continual ref errors time and again, and as Ricky says, nothing happens as a result. To me that begs a question ~ WHY?

Eels face $15,000 fine for Stuart outburst

Having a potent strike player on the bench is tactically very handy, not only because if the original game plan isn’t as successful as it needs to be, Schnoz can send Reynolds on, but because the toads also must come up with contingencies to cover that possibility, and that can create information over-load in their minds & play structures.

Origin bench time doesn't scare Reynolds

Now we’ll see what Inglis is made of ~ will he hit Merritt as hard as he hit Dean Young?

Merritt pick works for Inglis

What about the alleged victim ~ who’s standing by her?? As always, the fool gets all the support while the damage he does gets put out with the trash.

Raiders to stand by Ferguson

I just hope that Merritt isn’t another one of Anthony Mundine’s cousins!! 😉

I'd given up hope of Origin, says Merritt

Well said. Just looking at the professionalism on display during any NFL game in USA puts our blokes to shame as juvenile amateurs. It seems to me that the constant whingers who enjoy seeing players bashed can’t see the wood for the trees ~ that you don’t need biff, niggle, shoulder-charge, or any other idiotic nonsense, in order to play hard, tackle hard, or show how tough you are. Except for the wannabe’s, that is.

NRL 2014 shaping up as a touch football league

Geeez ~ what if he’s dumped by Raiders & picked up by Dragons? I feel sick 🙁

UPDATE: Blake Ferguson charged, suspended by NRL - will miss Origin

Hopefully now there will be some positive entertaining footy instead of the monotonous niggle-nonsense that has dominated the small-minded perceptions and ability of the low-grade thug playing ThugbyLeague.

Banning the biff: It's just not right

Artie would have stopped eating his pie for that pass
Pity the blind ref’s didn’t pull up Smith’s forward passes. though

What is the point of extra time?

Smith’s forward pass that was let go for a try cost NoCastle the game.
