AFL, NRL and the whole World Cup threat

The WC does not interest me in the slightest, ( well maybe just a little - goal highlights) but i dont consider it important enough for our "real" football seasons to be stopped - AFL/NRL, but on the plus side, we can get some real good stadium upgrades for some AFL teams, Both the Dockers and Eagles have massive waiting lists. If the WC can fix this, IMO it's a win/win, although it has to be said that even if we dont get the WC, the stadiums will still be upgraded, but we will have to wait longer.

AFL, NRL and the whole World Cup threat

I think BOC is on the money here, the Aleague went to summer because it was starved of attention, being a minnow on the football calendar. I seem to remember last season many posts from people complaining that all the 20/20, 1 day cricket was taking attention away from the A league, well it seems now that cricket will ramp up it's advertising etc and do the same as what the AFL/NRL were doing. You repeat the same thing about technical and tactical soccer etc, but do you realise that people actually want entertainment and excitement !!.
