#8 Wells for Waratahs was shit a few weeks ago.
Tonight, one of the best on ground.
Every week stronger.
All Oz regions are blooding a lot of great young talent. Let’s hope we can afford to keep them.
Otherwise we might as well play the old guys for the wallabies!!
The game is almost dead in Oz already.
Please ditch SA and go it alone if the Kiwis won’t join. Check that, tell the kiwis we wont freely let kiwis have Centrelink benefits unless they play rugby with us!! (that’s a joke, I need to point this out for the ultras out there).
We need a standardised calender where the fan knows there will be a Friday & Sat night match, followed by a Sunday arvo game.
C’mon Wallabies…

I think you listen to the commentators too much. Fantastic game, Waratahs up 14 points in the first 15 mins (not tired). Unfortunately, like all the Oz teams, there is a lack of game management. That is the big difference.
Beale was MOM, Foley played well, but the difference is knowing when and where to kick.
Same with the Reds match.

Genia plays for Stade De France.
The best players play for the Wallabies.
Phipps plays when they can’t!

I wonder if Dean Mumm was your son or brother whether the easy shots would come so easily!
Yes, I agree, Mumm would not be in my 23. But he is not the reason we are uncompetitive with the Kiwis, or England!
Do you know how easy it is to get the tackle wrong?
The start of the season saw a really bad defensive display. You have to ask what the players do in training. Maybe they are really only young guys who can’t understand what they are being asked to do until they play actual matches.
Holy shit, maybe that is it!!!
The defensive lapses have become fewer however the composure of the team has not held. Maybe Cheika doing his thing has create a mentality of us v them. When it should be… fuck everyone else, let’s kick ass or die.
Cheika, until the last few weeks, has talked tough but complained with the best of them.
Yes, refs suck. We all know that. It is time to take the refs out of the equation and kick some ass, not complain when our ass gets kicked!!
Foley is looking really good, except the kicking.
Hodge needs to play more of a role here, that is why he has been picked.

Just asking the question and i don’t know the politics but who at Cricket Australia allowed potential West Indian players to be picked in the BBL this summer when they knew the Windies were touring? We shouldn’t be rewarding these clowns.
Everyone is frightened of Curtly Ambrose - except modern day West Indian cricketers
Bunratty, I read your first sentence and thought you were talking about me!!
After catching my breath i carried on reading…
Eddie Jones set to beat out Jake White for the England job no one else wanted
If i remember correctly the Wallabies were rubbish in the 2003 World Cup except the NZ match and the final, much like SA often scrapes through and keeps chugging along despite the poor coaching. He did get to the final though so you have to give Eddie that.
As for the 58% win record, that doesn’t say much. Australia are consistently 2nd or 3rd ranked in the world. Most likely 3rd during Jones’ tenure as England were dominant for a few years. Being that highly ranked and only winning just over half your matches is pretty poor. If my daughter came home with a Maths result like that i wouldn’t be too pleased!

Infamous brother of Rob!
Typo i’m afraid
Another great escape: Is it composure or luck?
Problem is the White is the only solid, dependable no.9 we have, the rest have issues.
It is very clear he has cut alot of the kicking out this year… & the Brumbies are on fire.
I would hold on to your citizenship for a match or two and see.
Agree on Stirzaker though but maybe for the next world cup.
Still rough around the edges
What would the Wallabies squad look like if picked today?
I am too chicken shit to nominate my team as you have, well done.
One problem… you have titled this ” What would the Wallabies squad look like if picked today?”
But you didn’t pick a team based on the title.
Simmons & Cooper haven’t played a match,
JOC & Pocock 1 match (JOC maybe 2 in different positions).
TPN & AAC injured but good picks (TPN now picks up head knocks in training, his career unfortunately will be be over within 18 months if he doesn’t start tackling with his arms).
Arnold from the Brumbies is ripping it up and i actually saw Ben Alexander play a good match last week (didn’t even drop the pill if memory serves).
So i am not really arguing against your picks, just the inclusion of players with no current form in set positions.
Ok, i’ll give it a shot with the starting team (2nd name is a close choice);
Slipper
Moore
Kepu
Jones/Arnold
Dennis/Carter
McMahon/Fardy
Butler/Hooper
McCalman/Higginbotham
White/Phipps to come on after 65 mins to be a pain in the ass.
Foley/Harris (we need a kicker folks)
Horne
Tomua
Kuridrani
Speight
Folau
