]]> While it has been said the Socceroos v Kuwait in January will be an A League based 11 (as the match is not played on FIFA dates), that may not necessarily be the case.

If we work on the basis that overseas based players available would include those not playing regular first team football for their clubs, and those playing in leagues that will be in recess at the time, then a Socceroos starting 11 might include only one Australian based outfielder:

Kennedy
Rukavytsya Carle Vidosic
Valeri Culina
Carney Spiranovic Neill Wilkshire

Vukovic

With the notable exceptions of Cahill, Kewell and Schwarzer, I would argue that this 11 is otherwise close to full strength.

Personally, I’d be very happy to see what Spira, Carle, Vidosic and Ruka can show if each given 90 minutes.
