“Probably the big surprise to them would have been the quality of Kuravoli’s goal kicking.” Aided by 18 penalties against Aust. Is this statistic a record high?

The Wrap: Group C fast becoming everyone’s favourite - except for the Wallabies as early flight home looms large

Wales played a very structured game with balanced attack and superb defence. Fiji were unlucky to lose this match but will be too unstructured and athletic for Australia, especially if the heat/humidity continues in France. They certainly will not be intimidated if we get a repeat of the 2nd half wobbles against Georgia. I believe Fiji and Wales will go through to the QF’s. I also believe that Fiji can advance further. So, to answer your pertinent Q’s: 1. No and yes; 2. No and no; 3. No; 4. No; 5.? and ?

Hopeful as usual, same with Florida State 😔

What a terrific interview. Both men relaxed and Jones being forthright. Cheika in his element.

Can Quade and Samu wind back the clock for the Wallabies?

Hello Nic! Nice article….excited that both players are back in the mix. How are you….hope you have been well and COVID free. People still nuts in the South, esp. Florida. Too many jab-dodgers! The SEC starts next week and many expect the infection rate to escalate as a result of the stadium crowds. ‘Bama picked to be #1 again (Sigh). I was thinking of you when Wales put it all together in the 6N. I also enjoyed watching the Welsh boys on the Lions tour. Ciao!

Can Quade and Samu wind back the clock for the Wallabies?

Definitely. Now, the perennial problem in Australian rugby….where to find a reliable goal kicker that every South African and NZ teams have in abundance. How many games have been lost by Australian teams (SR and Wallabies) b/c of poor goal kicking!

The Wallabies are perennial slow learners

“…he yanked McKenzie around as if he was a puppet on a string..” 😁 Hi Nick…hope you are keeping well/safe in Snowdonia (unlike those of us in the U.S. where Coronavita reigns). I watched the recent match btw Munster and Edinburgh….very impressed with the young Irish 5/8…he looks the goods! Your thoughts?  Cheers, Buns!!

How Dave Rennie’s Wallabies moved on from Cheika-ball at the Cake Tin

The Sugar Bowl traditionally goes to the highest ranked SEC team which by all accounts should be Georgia if they lose to LSU next week in the SEC Championship. Auburn likely to play in Citrus Bowl in Orlando against Wisconsin on Jan. 1.

College football 2019: Week 14 winners and losers

Yes…an OSU/LSU matchup would be worth watching. However, given the influence of the SEC, I’m sure there will be a push that a 10-2 Alabama team still warrants a place in the playoffs. It happened a few years back following another loss to Auburn who then lost to Georgia in the SEC Championship game. The 10-1 Alabama team then moved into the Conference final four! The pressure will be on if GA loses to LSU next week (as expected).

College football 2019: Week 14 winners and losers

We were at the Iron Bowl in Auburn….terrific game. After match celebrations were extraordinary. Auburn probably had the toughest schedule in the country with its 3 losses coming from top 10 teams. The Tigers should get a top bowl (maybe the Sugar Bowl instead of Alabama). Saban, the Crimson Tide coach, was not a happy camper at the end of the match 😢 WDE!!

I thought Wales played their best game of the season even without several of their stars. Some terrific backline moves. Very entertaining game!

Can England dethrone the All Blacks in their World Cup semi-final?

“England have more power and all-round solidity, New Zealand have more X-factor. It is a mouth-watering prospect, but I will take England to shade it.” Agree Nic….ENG by 4! AND, WALES by 3! 🏉 Cheers!

Can England dethrone the All Blacks in their World Cup semi-final?

“In either case, I wish you the best of luck in your post rugby career, I am sure that whatever you do you will do it with commitment, passion, thoughtfulness and grace. Thanks for all the great rugby over the years, you will be missed!” Amen!

PM Pocock? Champion Wallaby ponders politics after rugby

“Pocock is so far left in his political beliefs, he’s gone past green & might possibly be red!” And, based on your litany of negative contributions, what would a geriatric conservative right wing pedant define as being “red”??

Can Japan repeat the Brighton Miracle at the 2019 Rugby World Cup?

Apologies, Harry (but nicely written!): England by 13; Wales by 11; Ireland by 3; Blossoms by 3.
Looking forward to a wonderful w/e (the first WC apogee).
