I fear for Bancroft, Khawaja, Marshes and Paine against this attack.
Fresh from the docile Australian pitches to South Africa who have been playing tests on their wickets against quality opposition.
Throw in the fact that Warner has been trying to slap a white ball around for the last month and it’s a concern.

South Africa's pace depth is simply scary

Great article. Was a brilliant leader. A great player. Sentenced after trial by media. I won’t buy into the “bad leader” bullshit. The response from his peers today speaks volumes about Jobe Watson and their thoughts on his guilt. Thanks for your efforts Jobe.

Jobe Watson, a nuanced footballer

The difficulty for England is giving Root some protection from the new ball. The guy is a superb player but if the Australians are to dismiss him, surely it is with a new ball. It sounds like England may regularly find themselves 1 for very little. If that 1 is Cook they’re likely 2 for very little a short time later. Root and Stokes are stars but Bairstow appears a grafter. Lacking another top end talent.

England's series victory can't hide batting problems

Great question. Kelly and McGrath come back in for Ambrose and Howlett (probably) but that doesn’t give us a small forward or midfielder.
Does Begley come in?
Bellchambers was smacked last week. Is Matthew L due for a return?
Watson was dreadful unfortunately but might be saved by Merrett’s suspension.
Langford might be the answer up forward for Fantasia. Keep Howlett for Merrett.

Consistency the key for Bombers' finals fortunes

Last Tuesday I would have said the Bombers would be primed to take down the Crows. This Tuesday the reality is Fantasia is out for several weeks and their most prolific ball winner will miss. Will require a Saints/Geelong/Port Adelaide type performance without two of this seasons best players in red and black.
I’m not convinced anyone is a lock for the grand final. Crows finish top 2 and look likely. GWS has talent to burn and also look most likely. Geelong are shot. Richmond are yet to convince me. The best of the rest might be Sydney and the Dogs. Put a line through the rest.

The Crows may be favourites, but can they perform when it matters?

Agreed the Swans lost their way through bad kicking but the Bombers were huge to get out to a 19 point lead. For the bombers to cough up three goals in four and a half minutes I’d suggest required some luck on behalf of their opposition.

The Crows may be favourites, but can they perform when it matters?

Have they been afforded the same luxuries and entitlements as GWS? They’ve long since been insignificant and I don’t know how they get out of it. I’m not sure the Gold Coast is a desirable part of the world for many Australian’s looking for some sun and it certainly couldn’t be a desirable destination for draft prospects.

The Gold Coast Suns are a lost cause
