Did he have the best interests of rugby in mind when McHammer went on the Eddie spending spree, including paying WAY over for an unproven mungo baller in Sua’ali’I? What about the RWC overspend? Or the inabilty to recognise that Super is in a near terminal decline? Or how RA have treated every other franchise sans the Waratahs with disdain? Or being a part of the board that thumbed their nose at Twiggy’s bank account? Yep… best interests my left cheek.

'Definition of madness': Rugby reform must start with total cleanout of RA board - and this should happen next

And trying to deflect Waugh’s role in where rugby is in Australia is laughable. He was a board member for long enough to have established meaningful change rather than sit in the shadows. Indeed, I’d say he was as faceless as the rest of the Board at that time, despite the pedigree you’ve noted. He is as liable as McHammer is. Just because his redeeming quality is that “he’s a good bloke” doesn’t make him an appropriate person to be in charge of the game.

Making him out to be the messiah of rugby in Australia purely because he was a Waratahs and Australian player is rather disingenuous as well… 😛

Sooo… you going to put names to these alleged experts then? Until you “show yourselves”, you’re no better than the captain’s signing the Raelene petition.

Mowen hired.

Definitely some illusions.

No. No he was not.

Nah. Not yet anyway.

I Asked AI to answer your question (“write something funny about what existed in 2016 and didn’t in 2017)… In 2016, everyone swore by this revolutionary new device called the “phone-a-ringer.” It clipped to your belt and had a string attached to a giant, old-fashioned dinner bell. You’d answer a call by yanking the string, causing a glorious clang that sent pigeons scattering and alerted everyone on the block you were a VIP. Sadly, by 2017, phone-a-ringers fell out of favor after too many accidental butt-dials led to city-wide pandemonium. Some historians believe emojis were invented to express the horror of accidentally summoning the fire department with a glute activation.

Aussie-born England capped rake Nic Dolly signs with Force ... and he'll soon be eligible for the Wallabies

Mack had chances at the Brums, and there were players deemed better (at the time). At least they gave him a go, unlike every other Super club who said ‘no thanks’.

And if Mack is still in town, does Corey Toole get a crack? Who (not Who?) knows…

Sounds like you’ve gotta watch even more rugby… hooray!!! 😛 😂

Some pretty stinging words for the Tahts, eh. And he’s spot feckin’ on.

Ah, the old “Kindergarten was the longest three years of my life” kinda guy, eh!

at least the inaugural and long overdue TRC U20s will help keep more talented players at home instead of moving abroad. Really? I reckon you’ll find plenty of Mungo scouts sitting in the stands with an open cheque book for some of the players…

Wish him all the best, fair dues and respect, an international cap is an international cap. – Spot on. It’s one more than 99.5% of Roarers, myself definitely included, will earn.

Yep spot on. About time we started thinking about it in that way, too. There’d be a few more hanging around in Japan me thinks… shame we’re too late for Cornelson and a few others though.

Well, if you’re chronologically 34 like me but look 60… it’s a problem!

Definitely fast, that’s for sure. Give it a few more seasons, but watch out for a young lad named Liam Bowron in Canberra. That lad can play!

Mike Cron was utilised by WR as the “scrum guru” and was roundly applauded as an outstanding appointment. Geoff Parling, albeit still within an Australian domestic set-up, is used by WR as a lineout consultant… and is met with the usual derision and “where’s the Australian coach?!”. Puck me sideways.
