Six talking points from State of Origin Game 2
How are the NSWRL playing with a blokes mental health? Pick eligible players and he gets not even a mention.
QRL potentially need to rely on more than a checkbox and the NRL need to do some due diligence.
It’s good to see NSW actually fighting for the rules…..Alan Langer comes back from the UK to play against the rules, Adrian Lam, Captain of PNG is allowed to play against the rules…..
Six talking points from State of Origin Game 2
With all the people the NRL have given numerous chances to, why would they stop Mullen playing should someone want to sign him? That would be another example of NRL nepotism which is still prevalent.
Jarrod Mullen: A rare case of a deserved second chance
Who’s described the Indian batsman in that way ?
Pitch provides hope in Australia's quest for last-gasp victory
Nope, not in my opinion.
Sooner his platform for trying to push his own agenda’s the better.
Border and Benaud I agree with 100%, do they give posthumous knighthoods ?
Three Australian cricketers who deserved a knighthood
Shauny, they don’t have a choice, finishing time is finishing time.
The bowling team is responsible for pace of play, they get fined for not meeting the requirements. The batting team has an obligation to be ready when the bowling team is.
Are the bad-boy Aussies making an unwelcome return?
lengthy history of indiscretions?
Name them?
He took the fall as captain but as the enquiry showed had no knowledge of the sandpaper incident before it occurred.
Are the bad-boy Aussies making an unwelcome return?
Wow, check out every break for the last few tests and he’s done exactly the same thing, even players from other test teams have said that in the media because of the woke outrage.
Are the bad-boy Aussies making an unwelcome return?
I have watched him play in the IPL and around the place, I think he’s a great cricketer.
That doesn’t mean he and India weren’t taking the piss by playing a superior wicket keeper while allowing him to bat.
Australian Exceptionalism? OMG I don’t think you can be further from the truth, look at all the tall poppy syndrome that happens in Australia.
Are the bad-boy Aussies making an unwelcome return?
How was it Australia’s choice? Wasting 2 minutes running a chest pad on and off between overs wasn’t Australia’s fault.
Funny how it stopped when the umpires finally stepped in.
Are the bad-boy Aussies making an unwelcome return?
@Shauny, that’s irrelevant. Given they started half an hour early they still finished one short on the day.
The timewasting tactics save the Indians from facing as many overs.
With one of the biggest issues in Test Cricket being getting the overs in, teams should not be overtly slowing the game down.
In the guidelines it states that batsman should be ready when the bowling team is….
Are the bad-boy Aussies making an unwelcome return?
@DP because our batting is exposed as it is, playing 2 all rounders isn’t going to help that.
Mitchell Starc should be dropped for Brisbane
@DavidJ Paine had numerous conversations with the umpire about the time wasting before he said anything to the Indians. The umpires eventually took action so realised the Indians were taking the piss with the Chest pad being brought out, put on and taken back at the end of each over.
When I wrote the initial comment, I hadn’t realised the rule has changed around injured batsman. It used to be if you didn’t field you couldn’t bat higher than #7 but now you just have to not bat in the first 2 hours if you have been off the field more than two hours prior to the completion of the innings. Still a shade of grey if you can come out and swing the bat like he did after sitting a day with an arm injury in my opinion.
Are the bad-boy Aussies making an unwelcome return?
I don’t get the outcry to be honest, I’ve heard worse playing 2nd grade and it hasn’t phased me at all.
I understand Paine being frustrated by the timewasting tactics and getting no officiating from the umpires.
For example, bringing a chest pad on and off alternate overs was just ridiculous and the umpires should’ve put a stop to it was before they did.
They also shouldn’t have let Pant bat that high in the order seeing how he’d missed so much time off the field.
I find it ironic when India and Pakistan started facing up to the Aussies they’re finding their edge yet it’s back to the bad Aussies when there’s something this minor to give woke media something to generate an article with.
Are the bad-boy Aussies making an unwelcome return?
It’s as much evidence as someone apparently hearing a racial slur from 50m when no one else around the alleged slurrers heard anything racial. Including Indian supporters who were that robust nothing was said they got thrown out for arguing to much with the police.
Why Tim Paine's sledging leaves such a bitter taste
@bernie, you’re right, it’s changed since I did my umpiring cert, it’s now a maximum of 2 hours, but it used to be if they didn’t field they couldn’t bat higher than #7.
Why Tim Paine's sledging leaves such a bitter taste
Might want to have your facts straight Bill….

I agree with you 100% I don’t think any Australian Batsman should be feeling good about the series so far. They’ve all underperformed and everyone should be worried about suffering the same fate as Joe Burns because while he looked terrible and didn’t score, the others haven’t scored and looking comfortable just to get out cheaply is no better.
Steve Smith and David Warner must shine in Sydney
Just because he was the best option at the time doesn’t mean he’s origin standard. I think he was given way to many chances where there were players in better form not selected.
Could Mitchell Pearce be forced out of the Knights? If the shoe Fitz
Do you seriously think he’s still (or in reality was ever) an origin halfback ?
Could Mitchell Pearce be forced out of the Knights? If the shoe Fitz
Is this really such a big deal?
Seriously a pre-season training session?
Is there nothing worth an effort to report this week?
I come to the Roar for sporting news not some attempt outrage generation at each step of the way.
I find it ridiculous the amount of attention this is getting when there are so many people who’ve actually broken laws as opposed to being a dirtbag jerk.
Roosters should derail plans to face Folau
I’d hope if they were going to blood someone, it would be someone with a potential and a future wearing the baggy green long term. Not a 32yo….Especially later on if it’s a dead rubber.
