Avid craft beer fan who is only 10 double centuries away from playing for Australia.

I agree with you in the sense I am worried the umpires aren’t even looking anymore (at the front foot). Out of curiosity do you have the stats of overturned decisions for the series. Would be super interesting to see

Should cricket umpires make way for more technology?

In some senses I tend to agree but I am just curious to where it all stops. I don’t think it will happen but why don’t we just remove the umpires? Everything can be adujacated off the field now technically anyway. It’s far fetched but maybe not as far as we think

Sorry mate! Typo! I am glad to hear that FC fans are enjoying the rivalry. I think sydney is embracing it and the players too. Makes it a better spectacle and also brings the best out of the players. I have to disagree with the score but!

Warts and all, I love the Western Sydney Wanderers

100% agree. Brendon is a upstanding representative and I think it’s half the reason he is so loved.

Warts and all, I love the Western Sydney Wanderers

And isn’t that the best. I hope one day kids grow idolising some of our A league players. Appreciate the words and bring on the derby!

He is a serious player. I’ve always liked him. He needs to have a big start to the shield season and then I think we will see him in the picture. Andrew – you are right. He’d average around 135-140. Tall bloke and gets them to leap. Very smart T20 bowler and has done the job for the Scorchers over the last 3 years. I believe he was injuried for most of the 2015/16 season and then came back to play the final. Justin Langer loves him too. He has big positives.

Jason Behrendorff needs to be part of Australia’s Ashes plan

I think TV is dictating to much in regards to times. People have to work Monday. By the time the game kicks off, and then you get home it’s nearly 11pm. That’s pretty rough particularly on families with young children.

Afternoon games would be ideal but player comfort in the hot weather needs too be monitored.

The game is exciting but maybe clubs need to be open to doing some extra stuff. Cheap tickets? Better options? Promotional shirts. I am not sure.

A-League crowds are a concern, even if the football is fine

There was a typo with the title. Changing now. Was aiming at very late 90s to now as that really was the only cricket I saw had had a good grasp on.

Based on player feedback and culture I’d agreee with Mark Taylor. Serious competitor and even better bloke. I am lucky enough to have him as our club patron at the ND Rangers.

From 1990 to now, who was the best Aussie captain?

NHL is littered full of veterans and I think you need them to win Stanley’s. The downside is they take $ out of the future. The question is how quickly do you blood the young blokes. The ice can be exposing for the young players and sees some people fall into the minor league pit and never surface. I still think Detroit are in a stage where teams fear the name and they will continue to be like this for a long time. Besides this ‘let’s go Islanders’

The Detroit Red Wings need to retain their youth

I can’t say I have seen a lot of him. Only 26 with a good average. Let’s see how he plays in the shield season.

Adam Gilchrist's legacy has become a curse

Strong words and fair play to you for going against the grain. I agree about Healy but disagree about Gilchrist and Haddin. They both were solid and had amazing hands. Did there batting over shadow their glove work. I think so but to keep you Shane Warne, Brett Lee, McGrath and others full time, I think he was pretty handy.

Adam Gilchrist's legacy has become a curse

I tend to agree and where I was aiming to take the article. I do believe there are some good up and comers in the system, they just need to perform. I see Jay Lenton (Thunder) keeper as a prospect and a few kids out of the U19s from NSW that I know of have a good firm base.

Adam Gilchrist's legacy has become a curse

There needs to be the guy in there who will guide an innings yet have a strike rate of 80+. Easier said than done. I don’t mind Stoinis in there at 7 as I think he has more ups then downs. Where is the older head in the middle to guide it home? I think there is too much pressure on 1-4 to perform and then think the 5-8 will bat 40th over onwards and tee up. It’s an ideal world situation, but it recently hasn’t worked.

Australia's ODI team must be overhauled

Chris, thanks for your feedback. Wasn’t aiming to blaming the great man! More of understanding the blessing he was to Australian Cricket. My main point is that selectors I believe are still looking at fitting the wicket keeper role with the Gilly like piece. Does this suit going forward? I agree we have to wait to see who comes through and that will ultimately determine the role they play.

Adam Gilchrist's legacy has become a curse

Agree big time! We see every national team heading this way. Sangakarra, De Kock for example are and were batting in the top 3 for their country with more of an emphasis to score runs and then hopefully not have to comment on their wicket keeping. Gilly changed the focus of the role. I agree with your Wade comment and would like to see Neville back personality.

Adam Gilchrist's legacy has become a curse

You make some good points. I will disagree with Handscombe Keeping has he has performed at a Shield level, One Day and Big Bash with the gloves. Is he ready for the dual role of batting 4 and keeping, I wouldn’t want to see that burden on him yet.

Adam Gilchrist's legacy has become a curse

Big time Andrew. The good olde days right?

Adam Gilchrist's legacy has become a curse

It’s a tough one. He brings a lot but don’t think it’s fine tuned at the moment. I’d wouldn’t like to see Usman not get picked for him as an ‘all rounder’. Time will tell!

Glenn Maxwell must play in the Ashes

Good read Andrew. Even as a Swans fan I have been a hater in the past based probably on worry that GWS are coming to take over. Their success lately is something to be proud of.

A message for the Giant haters
