Amateur sports watcher and general expressor of poorly-thought out opinions until they're proven to be utterly wrong - usually at my bank account's expense. English born so offer an alternative - though probably unwanted - viewpoint.

Well here it is, Part 4 of my series on how much of an idiot I'm going to look in about nine months' time…
Hopefully I've saved myself a bit of face down the track as this article was delayed until after the latest round of fixtures. Here…
Continuing on from my last article here are the next five sides currently occupying the positions 6-10 on the Premier League table. (This was…
So after seven games played by each side we can start to gather how the rest of this season may play out. I'll supplement…
Wembley works because it’s no team’s home ground and it’s only used for cup finals, with Old Trafford the host of the Super League grand final (and is also not used by any teams).
I would like to see it where the grand final every other year is in Sydney, and in the intervening years it’s held by the highest bidder. Keeps some tradition alive while spreading the marquee game.
Politicians, NRL, get off your soapbox and take notice: We don't really care where Grand Final is held
It would also be the most Warriors thing to do.

I don’t care about players not knowing the laws of the game, I just wish commentators would.

I think Bairstow might be in the firing line if he doesn’t find form after the first two tests and could easily drop out for Curran.
Leaves a long tail but there’s enough bat in Ali, Woakes and Curran himself to get by.

Is this article a record for ageing the quickest?
Unlucky for you Stuart but probably for the best and the right handling of it by CCM.
Go in with a low-ball offer indicating interest. Bolt can refuse on somewhat justifiable grounds given his image, and everyone walks away having generated a bit of preseason interest and we can get on with what looks like a very good season of the A-League.
Bolt may be a cow on ice, but it looks like he's here to stay
Do we have a penalty count? Seems even on ground.

Isn’t this already happening?
We’ve already seen games in Toowoomba, Gladstone, Tamworth, Gosford (admittedly not that country), Bathurst, and Mudgee – with more to come (Darwin definitely has a game). And that’s before we get into the wilderness of matches in Perth.
Admittedly some of that was due to the Commonwealth Games but I believe the NRL have already realised they’re onto a good thing and that 9000 in Mudgee looks better than 12000 in Homebush, even if they make far more money at ANZ.
It’s probably not feasible to do a whole round in the country due to limited resources and establishment costs but one game every couple of rounds seems to be doing the trick.
Maybe the next step is to go outside traditional rugby league heartlands and take games into regional Victoria, WA, and other parts of NZ.
It's time for the NRL to go bush
They definitely do have a tipping comp.
Not any great structure mind, but a comp nonetheless

SFS needs a whole lot more than a refurb.
New roof (which covers all the seats and doesn’t leak), all over concourse, more than 2 changing rooms, better media facilities, greater accessibility for disabled people, more toilets (that don’t flood within 5 minutes of kick-off), improved bar and catering facilities, removal of the overhanging seating (with obstructed viewing), and that’s not even getting to the safety standards.
Anyone who’s been behind the Cove knows how dilapidated SFS is.

It’s definitely an issue with the fastest car unable to overtake another for a good 15 or so laps.
Whether that’s the aerodynamics, track, driver ability or a combination of all 3 is a matter of debate but the race should remain at Albert Park.
I’d say it’s the 2nd or 3rd most iconic track outside Europe along with the Japanese Grand Prix – both behind the Brazilian Grand Prix (which should always close the season).
Oh well, onto Bahrain.
Has Formula One outgrown Albert Park?

Esports are just as social as traditional sports. Here's why
You’re far too commie for my liking with your love of “quoits”, and “books”. The only book is the good book and should only be read by a trained professional.

I wouldn’t include Schumacer as the greatest F1 driver of all time. Undoubtedly a great driver, but not the greatest of all time. Same goes to Floyd Mayweather, unless you’re only talking specifically of lightweight boxers.
Definitely unfair on Michael Phelps, that continued success is ridiculous.
Also, Kelly Slater’s definitely worth a mention.
Is Tom Brady the greatest of all GOATs?
Don’t think Pele can be included given the endless Maradona vs Pele (and now vs Messi vs Ronaldo) debates.
Is Tom Brady the greatest of all GOATs?
He does, he said so himself that he’s disappointed he couldn’t have performed like this when the series was on the line. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t a terrific innings.

We’ll apparently it’s only in one spot which indicates damaged hessian. Even if it’s blowing off that indicates further that the covers are inadequate.
I recognise the rarity of a situation like this (no day ever rained off in Perth I believe) but you’ve got to plan for it.

Why are Australian covers so poor? Surely CA can afford rollers rather than resorting to hessian and tarp. Seems pretty village to me.

Given it’s already happened with Fallon Fox I’d say that point’s rather moot.
Like anyone else, trans people should have the right to play
I’m so close to tipping Souths but it’s coming down to coaching and a settled halves for me. I think they’ll snatch a game soon but I just can’t see it happening tomorrow night (although the reduced rest is also playing havoc with my thoughts).
