Thank you QConners for your comment. I believe Everton will need a manager with that winning mentality, but also I believe they need a manager with experience that has managed in the Premier League before. Manuel Pellengrini could be a great choice for the managerial role, as he has won trophies in England. We will just have to wait and see what happens.

Who will fill the vacant Everton job?

Thanks Speroni for your comment. As a United supporter I cannot wait either for the FA Cup final. I believe that Crystal palace will be great opponents and that the game will be another famous FA Cup final. But for me a win in the final will prove to be a happy ending to a far from convincing season from Manchester United.

Who is to blame for the collapse of Manchester United?

@Fussball IUL

I understand that history in football clubs is significant. Especially with teams as you say Leeds United. Even Everton have a proud history of winning the old Championship in the 1970’s, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest winning the Champions League, but for Manchester United there has being so much more success than when they were playing football in the second division. So its hard to compare the team of United in the 70’s, to the teams they have had in the Premier League era that has won them 13 league titles and 2 Champions Leagues. I understand that success and fame doesn’t last forever, but football as a whole has changed significantly since the 1970’s and the money and sponsorship’s within the leagues now is tremendous and with the money invested into United, their results should be better.

I agree with your comment Rob Mac. I believe for Manchester United to be successful again in the Premier League and European competitions they need a manager with the experience and status of the likes of Jose Mourinho. Sticking with Louis Van Gaal will be a poor decision on the board’s part and I believe that they will blow the chance to move forward in their quest to make Manchester United great again.

Thank you Herbert for your comment and I 100% agree with you. The vacant managerial position should have being chosen by the board and for a club like Manchester United, that role should have being filled with a manager with a strong reputation in the Europeans biggest competitions (e.g. Serie A, Liga BBVA, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Premier League), not a manager that had managed only a ‘mid-table’ team.

Who is to blame for the collapse of Manchester United?

Thank you R King and Fussball IUL for your input into my article. But that Manchester United you are talking about is pre-Sir Alex. The way Sir Alex Ferguson shaped Manchester United over his 25 years made the pathway for the high expectations placed on them now. So yes Manchester United did in-fact play 2nd league football, but unlike most EPL clubs we don’t like to live in the past like Liverpool and Arsenal, we are a team that has won many trophies in the modern era of the game and most fans expect to be winning more, but we aren’t. So instead of labeling the ‘young folk’ as followers not true supporters, I believe you need to reconsider yourself as ‘true supporters’ and look towards the future of the club, not the past.
