If ever there was a team of beaters … its Collingwood. Go anyone else !!!

We can beat anyone, says Buckley

FTA viewers the big losers . Another 5 years of watching Brisbane every Friday , Manly every Sunday and Bulldogs or Tigers shoved into whatever holes are left. BORING !!! Time for a new commission already !

TV Rights: ARL Commission misses on innovation

One small step backward for NRL…. A Giant leap backward for fan kind.

How fitting it is that we see nothing change under a new commision. I cannot understand why Nine cannot show live HD games on saturdays or sundays on GEM instead of showing outdated episodes of Friends or Seinfeld for the 5085th time Surely a live game of NRL would be more profitable than Antiques Roadshow on a Saturday night. At least we have live AFL to watch , let the conversion continue. NRL Epic Fail, AFL pure genius.

Breaking: NRL TV rights stay with Nine, Fox Sports in $1 billion deal

Sensible suggestion Scott, which is why it will probably be ignored. The League need to think about how they invest the money from this new TV deal. I like your idea, and some of the comments above have good logic to them. Channel 9 has super slow motion reviews from high speed cameras at the cricket which can show the shine and seam condition of the ball as it goes through the air , why not invest in some for NRL. Invest in an independant body to grade each player on a points system each october for the next season instead of a salary cap, and have a points cap instead, then players can earn whatever they can get from a club and not rely on the TV deal. This will also make the fans happy , as unlike salaries, points ranking can be completely public and the fans can see exactly what the players are valued at and what their club is spending the points on. Plus, it will stop everyone from wondering why the same two or three clubs seem to fit more big names under a cap than others. No more speculation, no more time and money spent trying investigfating every club. Along with your idea, these things may increase the support of the game, up revenue for clubs and put the game in a better position for fans and players alike. Maybe The ROAR can convince someone on the commission to join us in one of these forums, as we seem to know moe about whats going on by the sounds of it.

ARL have the solution, now use it

Gold Coast definately need a key forward in 2013. Thats the year the young players will start to step up, and their young forwards need an experienced head to learn from for their future development. If they cannot get Tippet, they should explore all avenues for a similar player. If all else fails, maybe get Fevola for 12 months (i know, but this isn’t about Fev, its about the suns). A key forward would also increase interest and attendance. The other key component for the development of their youngsters is a hard nut. They need to see how attacking the ball and fighting for possession is key to being successful, a player similar to Kelly or Creswell was for Sydney in its early years. The Suns have a decent skill level emerging, but show a distinct lack of desperation. McKenna also needs to start getting a settled side, its obvious by their over use of the ball that players are desperate not to be the “one” with the ball at turnover time. They appear to be playing for their week to week future instead of the team.

Why the Gold Coast Suns need Kurt Tippett
