Life long Chelsea fan and passionate football fan. Army veteran, father and husband loving his life and sharing it with his wife and 4 awesome dogs on a bush property away from the sprawl of suburbia. Enjoys writing about sport and football in particular. ?

Nice! My favourite OS side Chelsea are a good chance to make the final and qualify for the Champions League next season, meaning they don’t have to get in the top 4!

Slavia Prague defender helpless in bizarre ricochet own goal against Chelsea

Not as sparse as 8,000 in a 52000 seater like I’m Brisbane

Western Sydney Stadium is the feel-good story the A-League needs

Foxtel is a waste of money now so that’s why not many people are watching. Telstra users, like myself, stream the games live on our devices but is that data captured. New teams and promotion relegation won’t improve that stats as we are in a digital world now and FFA need to wake up to that and capture those stats.
As for the crowds that turn up, I don’t know the answer to that but the main issues would be over policing, troublemakers, prices and other distractions.

The A-League has six months to save itself from oblivion

umm…all Telstra users have the My Football App free on their phone, so that is how I have been watching the games. Foxtel is too expensive if all you want to watch is a few games a year, so more people are moving away from it.
TV rating dont show the overall figures.

It's time the FFA reconsidered its 'metrics'

There is a simple solution to fix VAR and the sooner it is implemented the better.

The VAR officials have 30 seconds to determine if the result should be overturned. 3 refs looking at and controlling 3 screens to identify an OBVIOUS error, which it was meant to be used for, that they pass to the VAR controller to call the ref, or the refs decision stays.
That would not slow down the game and only obvious errors would be picked up.

VAR: Very appalling results

All people are ignorant. If that is a closed statement then it implies you too are ignorant.

The A-League needs to be completely slashed

It’s hard to beat Suncorp with the fine establishments all down Caxton St. Beers from expensive overseas brands to local craft beers and all types of spirits to whet the palate!

An alcoholic A-League analysis

They could probably play their youth for the remaining A League games and still finish top.
They don’t need to play any of their ACL players in any game that comes before or after any away ACL games.

Sydney FC can win the AFC Champions League

why don’t we raise a countering petition asking for more football stadia for Soccer? If you kick it off Mike we should get more signatures than they get!

Think no one wants new stadia? Try asking football fans

My mind boggles that people will comment on a article without actually reading it first. It does seem indicative of todays society however.

The Socceroos are going to get 'smashed' in Russia

Still struggling to see why the first goal was an own goal as the ball was going towards the goal. I thought own goals were only awarded if the ball was not going in and was diverted in? The goalkeepers position shouldn’t have any impact should it?

Jedi should have had a hat-trick!

Jedinak leads Socceroos to Russia

2-1 our way, more gray hairs for me and lots of jubilation!

Overload the key to Socceroos' World Cup qualification

Excellent comment jb, you have hit the proverbial nail on the proverbial head!

Ange plays those he trusts to carry out his vision so that is why he sometimes picks players most disagree with and not players most scream for. Its about the team and how it works together rather than individuals.

Overload the key to Socceroos' World Cup qualification

We don’t have to score 3, we just have to win.

Brave Roos earn the right to be confident of qualification

You really have no idea do you?

Brave Roos earn the right to be confident of qualification

You mean like we did against Syria? A better team?

The Socceroos are halfway to Russia

Probably as he says “they” not “we”. Obviously not a socceroos fan.

Are the Socceroos mentally strong enough to win this playoff?

He did say, and I ad lib here, I will leave when our world cup is over. That says enough doesn’t it?

Are the Socceroos mentally strong enough to win this playoff?

Not sure about that. Mooy is dominating in the EPL, Ryan is playing well. Leckie and Kruse are both scoring as is Juric. Timmy has been our best but I don’t think he is now.

Are the Socceroos mentally strong enough to win this playoff?

I am getting sick and tired of all the drama about Anges future and the beat up by the media. All this came from an article that did not state the source, but “someone close to Ange” or whatever it was. He is well within his rights to ignore the massive media circus about this.

There is more focus is this non-story than there is on the game which is, in my opinion, pathetic. The whole football community should be behind him and the team with a focused, excited, supporting attitude but instead, like true modern journalism, we are all talking about the sensationalist, non supported rumour.

Are the Socceroos mentally strong enough to win this playoff?

That’s because it is an EVENT. the first test of the season, the Barmy Army etc with lots of banter and laughter. I would always go to the first day of the first test at the Gabba because it was a lot of fun.

The A-League is too good to be this bad

Its not that long……

The A-League is too good to be this bad

The bigger question is, who actually watch consistently FTA channels at all with Netflix, Foxtel, Nine GO, ABC View etc?

I like your last comment as none of your tips match mine!
