Not wrong about the Swans and there ability to revamp players. It seems struggling players find good touch up in Sydney. I’d like to see them in the finals, but as we all know finals footy is very different. Thing is anyone could finish top from 6 clubs. Sydney may not even finish top 4. ( they more than likely will)

I rate McLean he is still a good player. The ‘No murphy no Carlton’ comment was more a dig at the media than the amount of injuries within the team. However you can’t deny that Murphy being out has really stunted Carltons drive from the middle. In saying that they do really need Waite back to get more score on the board.
AFL mid-season review: winners and losers
How about State of Origin being played by the States top leagues. VFL, SANFL, and WAFL, etc, those competitions fielding their best, with the door open for AFL players who want to play in the competition. Let the States play it out; surely, this will have investment by the locals of each state and city capital to support their team creating solid crowds. Of course, without teams full of elite AFL players, the crowds will be down but so will added costs and expectations.
1. Give the players what they want – A state of origin competition they are more than welcome to play in.
2. Give the fans what they want. A real State of origin, each state’s highest league battling it out.

It will be tough to call, GC looking good against quality sides, but both sides being young they play to the calibre they are up against. GC challenged Essendon and Freo, will they bring that same passion and skill against GWS? who will be looking for a fist fight, especially under Sheedy and Williams. With so many young pups on the park it could be a real scrap all around the ground.
Izzy and Hunt match up? Just to appease the AFL community would be a ripper.

Republican – you make some good points, but with your reasoning why are there no Chinese players being payed millions of dollars? There is talk of GWS playing a game in China as of next year, with your arguement shoudn’t there be some over played Chinese players running around? maybe get Yao Meng from the nba.
The reason Hunt and izzie get the love is to gain support from the east coast, they are the AFL’s poster children. So that guys in there teens in sydney and QLD can say hey! why not give AFL a crack there is more money and it can be done.

Oh i woudn’t say that, they turn my horrible dribble into some form of readable sense. Bit devo about the word choice, Gun is not a word that should be lightly chucked around, same as ‘superstar’ and ‘legend’. I’m sure they are doing a good job.

Cameron and Macca take a look at the Stats and then understand this guy has been playing football for 3 years, pretty much every other player in the afl has grown up with the game. This is the reason for high interest, the expectation or him to fail was high and now that he is performing well why not enjoy it? The game will only benifit from development and improvement.

I agree with some of the points you have included, and cheers for clearing up some of my errors. My first article on here and maybe a bit lacking in research. I still stand by it, GWS will win more games than the Suns. The coaching staff are by far one of the most decorated combinations in the AFL.
