THE ROAR ON
I also add that I am more impressed with EMs new team culture than the wins. Those bans really made a statement. I hope they don't backfire. At this point the wins are welcome but only incidental. Australia has rarely had a team of world beaters but has often had a world beating team. It is good to see the team building back into a unit that play for each other.
I was probably slanted by the headline but do not really think that the rugby being played is all that much better, definitely not worlds best. And certainly not good enough to be optimistic about the world cup chances.
Michael I think three wins are fantastic. I just think you are getting a bit over-eager in your expectations. If they can get a win against the ABs and Boks next year and maybe only drop another one then you would have a case for respect but till then your dreaming. Did you not just see the ABs win 14/14 with a young and improving team? Average age 26. Have you not noticed the Springboks at all?
I am glad the Wallabies are improving and even more optimistic about Pulver and his plans but you need a good season or two more before you blot out the reputation so far which is best of the rest to be kind.
Michael the real test for Folau will be in his second year. His game will be analysed and plans made to negate or expose him will be developed as would be expected. Already it is obvious he only steps left and takes an age to wind up a punt. How he develops and responds will determine his worth. I have seen far too many one season wonders to be overly impressed but it's a good start, better than I expected.
I also add that I would never select him as a starter based on his defensive positioning alone although I can understand why the Wallabies do.
