He can’t do much worse than Moody who ignored grade performances for Names and Reputations. Paul Davis is one name that springs to mind Having taken over 50 wickets last season but lost his contract under Moody. The rookie list is interesting and somewhat bemusing with Tom Beaton as an example, who was a member of the Aust U/19 World Cup winning Squad but only averaged about 20 with the bat in grade cricket.
It will be a sceptical wait and see season for us Warriors Fans.

Will Mickey Arthur make the difference at WA?

We will see Jordan! Many of the current squad seemed to be getting a game on reputation. There are many players in the grade ranks in Perth that are quite capable of playing first class cricket consistantly yet were not given a fair go by Moody and his selection committee. Hopefully Arthur and his committee will have people at grade games looking at the talent thats in form and not going off reputations like Moody did.

Mickey Arthur to restore pride in WA cricket

Vinay, I don’t think the product is the problem or how much players make. The problem is the Man himself who comes accross to me anyway as someone who thinks he is bigger than the product he administates over.

IPL rocked by Indian government tax probe

Who said we want a southern has been over here in WA! We have enough Queensland has beens as it is.

A shame but Cosgrove no longer a Redback

In the words of his old “Footy Show” Mate “YOU IDIOT”

Is it time for Eddie McGuire to shut up?

That should put that Egotistical little Weazel back in his box. Should have learnt to keep his mouth shut and just administrate the product.

IPL rocked by Indian government tax probe

Yes Would have to agree on this one MC. While the Young Talent will be spread thinly over over the clubs, the older talent available in the second tier leagues has never really been explored to it’s full potential. as you have stated , Barlow and Podsiadly are great examples.

Recycled players and rookies starring in 2010

Nice Article Kersi, I have at times been a been on the “Ponting Captaincy” bashing bandwagon and with due cause I believe. However you must give credit where credit is due and I take my hat off to his decision making for the entire summer and the NZ tour. He appears to be a much more decisive captain when he has something extra to motivate him (eg. Ashes 06/07, Sth Africa 09) and since losing the Ashes in 09 he really has had an axe to grind. The team appears to have responded well to the challenge with a one day series win in India right through to the recent NZ test series win.

Ricky Ponting is maturing as a captain, at last

You reckon the Tahs have problems, Try being a Force supporter! Damn near breaks your heart!

Tahs in four, but they won't be at season end

Definately not a fan of NAB Cup! Give us a few more games for premiership Points or revamp the the pre season.

Get rid of NAB Cup, and give us a longer, fairer draw

Lalit Modi! Just another Administrator who enjoys being a “Legend” in his own mind.

IPL bigger than the EPL? I think not

As a Sports Lover who gives a “Toss!” about Bingle and her poor attempt at crying foul. I would love to hear Mrs Fevola’s comments on this crap, At least that would make interesting reading. Michael Clarke on the other hand seems more than confused over what he should be doing. Either make a decision on it and stand by it or put up with what comes down and get on with it. This coming home for a day or two and flying back later to rejoin the squad seem to show that he used to be undecided but now he’s not quite sure. Just what Australia needs as the future cricket captain. Grow up pup and become a “Dog” bro!

Clarke shows why he is anything but captain material

Just to Change the tone of the debate. What a battle it would be with Howard as ICC President and Bob Hawke as the Players Union Representative. Two so called “Cricket Tragics” from either side of the political scale, Facing off on cricket politics. Now thats what i’d call a “Test Match” GO Hawkey!

Howard not the only PM passionate about cricket

Yep! I’m a Big Fan of UFC and have watched it evolve from it’s beginings of “anything goes” to the sport it is today. You have to admire the fitness, skills and guts these guys have. Chris McKay I’m not to sure about Bisping being amazing though he got KO’d big time by Dan Henderson a Few Months Back. Still, They have got out the big guns of the sport for this fight night in Sydney. Should be an awesome evening. As Referee “Big John Mcarthy” says “Lets get it on”.

UFC brings back biff ... and bucks

That’s a Hell of a winning percentage at present. All seems to be falling into place at the moment but a week is a long time in sport, let alone a year!

World Cup dream still a work in progress

The score is on the board as far as this summer goes but hard to judge how far the side has come owing to the Implosion by Pakistan and the inconsistance and reliance on so few players of the West Indies. Still I’d rather be an Aussie Supporter than a Pakistan one right now!

Invincible Australia reaches pinnacle in 2009-10

Ahh! The Chatter has started and it’s “Game On” Go The Aussies

Confident Gayle predicts a 4-1 series win over Aussies

Well Stokesy! I’d be asking Ben Cousins for the number of his lawyer. Good luck you Clown!

Stokes could face lifetime ban if found guilty

Strange to say the least, Maybe he’s found a new way to polish the ball or just has a leather fetish.

Afridi bites the ball in bizarre Aussie win at WACA

Pakistan looked like a team just going through the motions and thinking about how long they have til they get on a plane home.
Well played Australia, But it is hard to judge form against a side that looks in such disarray.
Congratulations to the Aust. U19’s what a great win! Showed great heart to come back from a top order batting collapse and make 207 to give themselves a chance and then pour on the pressure with the ball and in the field. Well captained Mitch Marsh.

Pakistan crumble as Hero Harris strikes again

On Numbers and form he should be ahead of Phillip Hughes as the next opener but as Fisher has pointed out it seems White and Shaun Marsh are ahead of him for any other batting spots.

Klinger must be picked to tour New Zealand

It is hard to put up a case aginst his non inclusion! His stats say he should play as an all rounder. He can also win you a match when he is on his game, Must have upset someone on the selection panel.

Big hitting Afridi should be in the Pakistan Test team

Yes it does seem pretty suspicious, Especiallynot picking Afridi but I must be missing something as to what the Pakistan ministry hope to achieve from this as the ICC seems to bow down to any statement or request made by the BCCI.

Pakistan wants inquiry into IPL snub

Good Luck Brett!

Lee hoping to be bowling in a month

Mina, The Sport of cricket is exactly as you describe, but unfortunately the “Business” of cricket in this day and age is the opposite. It is the “Nature of the Beast” and with such lucrative money on offer any professional cricketer who want a piece of the pie just puts there name forward and hopefully their tender is accepted by a franchise. The problem with it is if you do not produce what is required of you then your contract can be terminated and they will tell you “it’s just business”.

Perform or perish in the IPL: it's just not cricket
