Rugby tragic living in china and still playing the game.

The Salary cap hasn’t worked for the Force for the last 20 years, and seems to be more in place to stop teams going broke rather than equalisation.

If they can afford (twiggy can) to keep bringing back high level Aussies from overseas let them go for it.

Benefits Stronger force team each week, better Super rugby viewership , better wallabies long term,

Aussie-born England capped rake Nic Dolly signs with Force ... and he'll soon be eligible for the Wallabies

If we are already paying our Super Rugby Players for a 12 month period (i assume we are?) surely we need to be utilising them in a professional setting like Super AU, I can not see why we want to be Paying a Player 200K a year to run out for Perth Bayswater in front of 250 people (No disrespect to Baysie)

14 games of pro rugby a year is clearly not enough for a player to develop, and with the amount of injuries in rugby at the moment it is hard to build team cohesion.

Aus Super teams could run into the Super Rugby Pacific with 10 games under their belt would be much better chance of giving the Kiwis a run for the money for sure.

Super AU sounds good to me.

Why RA should bring back Super Rugby AU - and keep Super Rugby Pacific

How can Super Rugby expect Fans to want to Watch Aus teams travel to NZ with a second string Team?
14 game season (with a bye) and we are resting players en masse?

COMPLETE SRP Round 12 teams: Brumbies, Tahs make one change each, Reds have seven, Force Wallaby returns

Surely the France your was the most boring in recent history, this is a good thing for the game.

It’s not the ARU fault that the top 10 is made up for the 4 home nations then sanzaar teams plus France.

Not many other options us there.

I dare say this will be exciting and good for Aussie rugby because a few wins on the board will help momentum and negative Aussie public

Why would the CBA ever want to merge with the NBL, they are making enough money on there own, Chinese have as much interest seeing Adelaide play as an Australian would have seeing Donguang play.

Australian Basketball Challenge proves there's no place for China Down Under

Berrick Barnes plays over there too, but i guess their is a lot of foreign players in japan who are contracted to the companies only and couldn’t or didn’t want to get dual contracts, can not blame them take a fat check to play top league for 3 months of the year and have vacation for the rest, or live in a suitcase getting smashed big south Africans for another 4 months of the year.

Japan has quality players so hopefully this works out for them, on the wolves.

Sunwolves reveal inaugural Super Rugby squad

Would be interesting to know how much of this deals’ increase was due to Japanese television money? 127 million people their from the worlds 3rd largest economy surely that is got to be worth a bit? Or will it be 2020 in the next deal when we see that money really kick in?

Looks like the force just pull out the same PR release at the start of every year, “we know we sucked we will get better” at least if we are going to loose every game at least make it interesting for the fans to go and watch

Brutal review helps Force start afresh

Sorry, is $40 million a year up from the old deal which was $ 25 million, not that bad when you consider we only have 5 teams, but of this increase $15 million extra a year is coming from the UK apparently.

What happened to the ARU TV deal?

I would have to agree with this, there is always a solution and the Japanese love getting things done.

Things get grimmer for Japanese Super Rugby team

Exactly and what happens if the Pumas in a different shirt don’t win super rugby, not much hope for the Rugby Championship team either. 2 teams would logical but we are talking about SANZAR here.

Things get grimmer for Japanese Super Rugby team

If I where a Top League club or professional rugby player I would be very worried, because what if the super rugby team is a flaming success. Interest dies straight away in the Top League crowds drop and so do the contracts wages, you go from havibg 14 professional teams to 1 and the rest go back to been semi pro.

Dane Hyllet Petty wasn’t named in the Perth spirt squad that i saw on their Facebook last night? Maybe his in japan for the summer?

Who's the next big thing in the NRC?

Nick Jooste just announced as apart of the Perth spirit squad just rep WA school boys this year.

Who's the next big thing in the NRC?

I thought the Tahs did well to clean up their camp and they bring in guildford who has had a bit on trouble in the past banished from NZ because ofthe bottle and left big money in clement go home early to NZ. Now he is in Sydney? he is a good player(not great) but has a lot of luggage, surely we could of found a local player to fit the role?

Who's the next big thing in the NRC?

I have to agree with that, while it is piggy backing off the ARU site i diminishes it importance straight away, NBL tv is a good example of what the ARU could do, has all the games on its website plus you can watch the replays of all games when ever you want.

The NRC should follow the lead of the FFA Cup

World Cup time is the time for the best players only, i dont see the point on Blooding players for the sake of development, in lead up to the world cup it should all be about winning the cup and if we need a new player to debut fine, but leave player development until next year and those four years until 2019.

SPIRO: Wallabies strong but why isn't Cheika blooding new players?

Thats true about the combined NZ AU numbers for tv considering the TV deal is split? It would be interesting to know if that is a straight even split three ways, Foxsport+skysport+supersprot money into one pot then divided three ways? I Heard the new TV got a boost just because sky and BT sport tried to out do each other, so does bumper ratings in NZ and SA still add money to the AUS tv payments?

Super Rugby by the numbers (TV)

Agreed SANZAR have already shown this, They will Keep the Brand name change the product.

Super Rugby by the numbers (TV)

Maybe Australian rugby should just bite the bullet like the A league did 10 years ago, the 3 or so pro clubs from the old NSL joined the A league and they just made the rest of the league with new teams, and soccer was in a worse position than rugby is in today and they pulled it off, we need more domestic teams to have more games to make more product when the aleague started out was just 8 teams, you could still play international matches in a champions league style set up against ITM cup teams perhaps,

Super Rugby by the numbers (TV)

I tend to agree just the fact that teams don’t play home and away week in week out, in Perth you might not have home a game in the city for a month if they have a bye, and people just forget the season is still going.

Super Rugby by the numbers (TV)

Walabies fans have so much product to pick from they pick and choose what games to go to, Oz needs more high level domestic games less Intls and make the NT games so special no one will want miss them.

I also find it interesting people still follow the aleague with out the worlds best players in it, but aus rugby is to scared to commit to a truly domestic comp because they are worried about player flight,

TRC should keep the single round robin format

I would agree Argentina have definitely added to the comp but there away games are not the biggest crowd pullers, AB played in Christchurch because they new they could sell out 17500 seats,

As for the PI team it could be the highest ranked nation out of the Pacific nations cup who qualifies, to be a single roubd robin you would really need 5 teams to have a good action packed montg of rugby.

TRC should keep the single round robin format
