I’ve seen him play centre a few times for Auckland in Super Rugby and at ITM level. I know it’s not comparative to test rugby but he’s good enough to be there.

I wasn’t impressed with the AB’s work either.
Piutau was brilliant but other players appeared to take an entire half to get their head in the game.
One of the biggest weaknesses I can see developing in this champion side is at hooker.
Dane Coles might be mobile, but he has nothing on Mealamu and Hore at the ruck. He looked a little like Saia Fa’ainga at a few times on the weekend and that was concerning. Another issue is our centre pairing. I think Piutau should be given a crack at 12 where he has played before, and Crotty should get a go at 13. The Smith experiment isn’t working and Saili overplays his hand too much.
In time these guys might come good, but I think they need a Super Rugby season in these positions before having another go. I recall Luke McAlister being quite confident that moving from 12 to 13 wasn’t a big deal and that’s the night Mortlock ran straight through him to set up a Wallaby try.

I cannot help but cringe everytime I hear Ben Mowen’s name get mentioned in this squad, and now he’s El Capatain.
This guy needs at least another season in Super Rugby to properly develop because as we’ve seen in the RH he’s just not up to the standards of loose forwards from NZ, SA and even Argentina.
The Wallabies are trying hard, but their football IQ is not worthy of their No. 4 ranking. No doubt this will slip by the end of next season.

We don’t need to talk about it. It is etched in history now. Khabib was toying with McGregor like a lion playing with his food.
