Wake up to yourself Chivas, only potentially one franchise might want him (Fairly confident the people who have rejected him have pedigree to comment with authority and purpose? Larkham, Cheika, McGahan), one which he said was bad for his “brand”, the one he said wasn’t meeting his KPIs he wanted to set for them, missed the RWC launch (should have been dropped for the whole campaign IMO). Pretty sure he is not going to lose his confidence anytime soon.

Customers, yes some of which would blog on TheRoar, who pay significant sums of money to watch their team play and get treated with a few of the things mentioned above, have a right to demand a bit more effort than going out to 4am and missing the team bus to team training before massive tests.

Hey people, leave James O'Connor alone

A 10s job isn’t to make the most metres with ball in hand, it is to make sure the backs outside you have the most metres with ball in hand, of which hardly any of them have touched quality ball (excluding Izzy in the first test) coming from JOC. As a 10, he’s woeful, non-existent.

Time for Hawker and Pulver to show the way

That’s a fair point Dan R. I just wanted to make the point it was careless and reckless, and people have been held accountable for actions of which they did not intend previously.

Deans on a roll, Gatland to be rolled

He loves a quick glance up at the big screen to see himself a little too much

Deans on a roll, Gatland to be rolled

I’m a bit sick and tired of the JH case, but i need to get this off my chest….

If someone performs a dangerous tackle, lets say, Ma’a No’nu last weekend against the Crusaders, not every dangerous tackle is a deliberate action, and sometimes they get out of control which is sometimes physics and people doing things at a million miles an hour. Buuuuuutttt regardless of whether the dangerous tackle is an accident or not, the judiciary do not care, the action has taken place and the tackler is held accountable and suitably suspended.

Nonu’s tackle (and about every spear tackle, maybe Sam Warburton in the 2011 World Cup) are careless and dangerous, of which suspensions were handed out for…was Horwill careless and dangerous in putting his boot in someone’s head/eye socket region? I would say yes. His QC has done very well, and not of the Quade Cooper variety.

Deans on a roll, Gatland to be rolled

Also, after the event in the 1st Test, big Lord Laurie Fisher tweeted “Doesn’t look good for James Horwill but he has got away with it before…” It would seem Laurie has maybe seen some dodgy tactics used by Horwill over the years…

Deans on a roll, Gatland to be rolled

Does anyone else find Nathan Sharpe horrendously poor as a commentator or interviewer on Fox Sports? He should not be commentating given his lack of independence to the Wallabies.

All he rambled/bumbled on with last night on Rugby HQ is, if the boys comes out this weekend and play really well then this won’t matter…..how about if they play really poorly this weekend? This whole incident might not have an effect on their performance this weekend, but if they have a shocker (something which big Sharpey hasn’t considered) all it provides is a sh1tload of ammo to be thrown at these two.

Patience wears thin with Wallaby amigos

POC kicked someone in the head a couple months ago, “accidently”, he should never have been on the tour in the first place….get on with it.

Lions lament loss of O'Connell

Jesse Mogg, the forgotten man in Australian rugby already? Left foot, left winger, only need to watch his try against the Rebels in Melbourne to make your mind up on that.

Wallabies lose Tomane with toe injury

Those players get their opporunity when their franchises play the Lions.
A country player would be someone playing, contributing and registered in a country rugby union based team. A lot of those contracted players have had nothing to very little to do with country rugby union for a long time. NSW & QLD Country are rep teams, not just a volunteer team which will take the services of someone who played in the country as a kid.

Country players dudded a rare shot at Lions

100% agree Steve. What a joke this game has become. No doubt it is the Coaches trying to promote their own egos, and what the hell is Blades even doing there? He has nothing to do with Country rugby what so ever.
The contracted players will get their opportunity when they play for their Franchises.

46-3 in 2001, and was only NSW Country is hardly a cricket score so this should not be a worry and a low crowd is of minimal risk in Newcasltle.

No offence to the players selected as it isn’t their call, but Josh Mann-Rea born in Narromine and left immediately to the bright lights of Brisbane at 6 months old, hardly a contributor to country rugby.

It’s a disgrace and a big up yours to country rugby, of which this area has been a gold mine of quality rugby players over the last century. It’s an outrage.

Country players dudded a rare shot at Lions

Looking forward to the Brumbies saying the B&I Lions have dis-respected their jersey when the Lions name a 2nd string team for there mid-week match before the first test.

Lions disappointed by weakened opponents

Who ever they’re playing, it will be a big improvement from when they beat an amteur WA side 116-10 in 2001.
Woodward etc coming out saying it is a disgrace blah blah blah, who’re they disgracing when they run out a second string team against the Super rugby Teams in the mid-week games before the tests?? Do the franchises turn around and say “you’re disgracing the Brumbies jersey”.
Yes, it’s not ideal, and schedules are so packed these days, it is a non-issue. Carry on….

I’ll be having the rugby league on mute on one tele and fox on another. I don’t need Phil Gould to talk me through 5 hit ups and a kick on the 6th…

Don't blame Foley, blame the ARU

You make a good point in your comment David in letting things pan out a bit.

But while we’re waiting for things to pan out, KB is still getting paid what i would expect to be a very high salary from the ARU and Rebels, sponsors and members are paying for the Rebels and Wallabies in 2013 under the assumption the bloke will be playing, mean while the ARU is making unprecendented losses.

Maybe ARU should be docking his pay while he is finding himself and reimburse sponsors, members and the coffers of the ARU. He had an opportunity to right the wrongs when he made his comeback but couldn’t last a week, it is dissappointing from a fan and stakeholder perspective that is for sure.

Kurtley Beale: a wrong to be righted

Wasn’t against the British & Irish Lions though!! 🙂

O'Connor to relish Wallabies' No.10 role

It takes years of experience for a player to become an accomplished number 10. To throw JOC into this position with no consistent experience in this position is a huge huge huge huge risk!!! Many great players who are not 10s have tried their hand at five-eight at elite level and failed…I’m scared.

O'Connor to relish Wallabies' No.10 role

Why do people think going back to Sydney will change anything? He is far from a clean skin in Sydney as well, if people remember.

Moving cities will only delay the inevitable and he will not solve any of his problems until he faces them head on. “Needs his support netowrk” is a weak excuse.

Beale needs a change of scenery

Bakkies, I can appreciate that a lot of Canberra guys have played for other franchises, but this is after they’ve moved inter-state, or had prior experience with Brumbies. Outside of the Brumbies Franchise, other Super teams won’t pluck a Canberra based competition player, rather going conservative and going Sydney/Brisbane, which is not a reflection of some of the quality players in this comp or a good thing for Australian rugby.

Code hopper Mogg happy with union

Was literally days away from giving up trying to make it. He tore the Canberra competition apart with some freakish tries and skills, both for Wests in Canberra and playing for the Brumby Runners. He was a victim of the Andy Friend regime, and a Brumbies team littered with the Elsoms/Giteau “rock stars” so never got a look in unfortunately. Other franchises find it difficult to rate the Canberra club competition and tend to take a more conservative Sydney or Brisbane recruiting approach, which is a shame as it is not a reflection of some of the players running around in the ACT.

Code hopper Mogg happy with union

Someone sign Jim Maxwell, great commentator and used to do a great job on the Shute Shield. Absolute legend.

Gordon Bray back calling rugby on Network Ten

Where are these stats?

The Wallabies need Jesse Mogg

Phipps should never have played for the Wallabies, his weakest part of his game is his pass!! Great move by Rebels if/when they pick up Burgess.
Barnes and Palu are so injury prone, they would be costing a fortune if you reviewed their careers on a per game basis. Happy to keep Barnes if he put away his kicking boot.

Phipps seemingly on his way to Waratahs

Thank you for confirming 18,000, coincidently the capacity of Ballymore. I’m sure if it was bigger they would have had a bigger crowd. And the score was 42-8.

More likely to get injured in Super rugby and Wallabies training camp, ow else are they going to get injured?

Horwill wants to play Lions

So you don’t admire a bunch of amateurs of NSW country having a go at fully fledged internationals? Admittedly they didn’t come close to winning, but it wasn’t one way traffic.

Lions were hardly well behaved either with two in the bin. My point is, the Waratahs, NSW Country and Brumbies stuck it to the Lions and gave it a crack which made for entertaining rugby.

The Wallabies are going to struggle enough as it is beating them, so to put the province game as preferential is ludicrous. Can anyone recall how many people went and watched the Reds last time the Lions were here? I’m sure majority of people could remember who won the Series ahead of the crowd figures for a provincial game.

I would be extremely surprised if Suncorp is not near capacity regardless of who is their line up, given the majority will be Lions supporters anyway,

Horwill wants to play Lions

This situation has been a mess, partly due to players and franchises, manily Reds, speaking against the ARU’s ruling of a blanket rule and an extended Wallaby camp.

Priority should be Wallabies, end of argument. Twelve years ago when the Lions toured, franchises played the Lions with Wallaby depleted outfits, and the games were crackers, Brumbies and Waratahs putting up massive efforts, even NSW Country had a good crack.

These games give other/younger players chances to stand up against class opposition and allows Wallabies to suitably prepare.

Brumbies being grumpy because they have to play the Rebels without their Wallabies, they’re all in the same boat, Rebels minus Higginbotham, Beale and O’Connor would seem alright if I was a Brumby. Quit the whinging and get on with it.
