A question from a novice about the offside rule

Thanks Milo. Maybe my use of words were faulty. ‘Courage’ seems to be getting on some peoples nerves. I didn’t think it was some crime to say some players lack courage more than others.

Tigers are Hunting the right type of players

Wow Olivia. You’ve really taken this to heart. My apologies. If I were to ask Grigg, Houli & Chaplin if they display the same courage as Taylor Hunt on the football field, just out of interest, what do you think there response would be?

Olivia. Thank you for the comments. I’m just beginning my writing here at roar, so any sort of feedback is helpful!

However, personal attacks on the author is not on. Do you know what I’ve been going through the last few days? Maybe I’ve been sitting on the couch doing nothing with my time. Maybe I’ve been studying hard for my final uni exams.. Either way, I don’t need you to sit there and talk about ‘decency’ & how ‘saddened’ you are.

In regards to the article. Please show me where I wrote the word ‘coward.’ I never ever said that anybody is a coward. Thats a word you’ve come up with to describe somebody who I stated ‘lacked courage.’ Big difference. Unfortunately, I’m quite young and the names of players you’ve listed went over my head. However, and maybe in my naivety I didn’t express myself too well. Regardless, I’m going to stand up and say Richmond lack courageous players. The no fear players. The Joel Selwoods, Steve Morriss’ & Jonothan Browns! And yes, I do believe the players mentioned lack the courage I think Richmond need to go one better each year. They are outside players, long ball kickers & good ball users. The team needs that. Taylor Hunt definitely doesn’t deliver what a great ball user does. Does this mean a man who has played 63 AFL games lacks talent and basic skills? Of-course not! He lacks what others have. I think Richmond lack courageous players. Simple.

Also, you stated ‘they may not be hard ball in and under players.’ I could not agree more. Richmond needs more of that. Cowards? Please. No athlete is a coward. Nor would I have the ‘courage’ to call somebody a ‘coward.’ Interesting hey?

Tigers are Hunting the right type of players

Imagine being 18/19 years of age and not being certain whether you’ll be playing the following week. Not one player can prove their worth in a week of football. The coach should have a bit of consistency with the players (injuries aside) and give them a real chance to prove themselves. Going by Jobe Watsons first season of AFL he’d be running around the the 3rds at Werribee! Knowing your teams mates strengths and weaknesses plays a massive part in team development. So have a bit of consistency, with the players and the plans!

Also, the one massive signing of Gary Ablett has taken weight of many senior players shoulder such as Brennan, Rischitelli, Brown, Krakouer and Fraser. Ahhh leave the to the bald bloke, he’ll take the kicks in, assist the goals, go third man up in a ruck contest and score our goals. GIVE THE OTHERS SOME RESPONSIBILITY!!!!!

Will be interesting to see GWS next year, I’m certain they’ll improve.

Old and the new causing problems for the Suns

Collingwood will do it again this year and I’m not even a supporter

Half a season down, still no AFL premiership favourite
