Hey AFL moderator – why do you keep deleting my comments.
If anything I say is not true I will withdraw the comments myself.
Whats the matter- not allowed to publish anything that doesn’t praise Demetriou or the AFL?
Kennett is right, the AFL must temper its arrogance
Football already is the biggest sport in Australia especially outside Victoria.
AFL is a very poor third to the other major codes in terms of how many people play it and are involved in it.
Whatever the result, kudos to Frank Lowy and co
Where is your proof.
AFL ratings drtopped 19.5% in Sydney this year due to AFL arrrogance.
Kennett is right, the AFL must temper its arrogance
You’re right UK Steve.
Not looking good – football will be extinct in less than 5 years and we’ll all be watching Aussie Rules and talking with a Victorian accent.
I’m going to move my family to Communist North Korea where football is the national game and you have more freedoms in life and what you choose to watch or play. And no AFL ads!
World Cup win would be icing on the cake
Source of your figures?
You are not a “soccer guy” – you are another fake AFL clone.
If you really love football there would be no reason for you not to want to have a WC here, even if it didn’t make a cent.
The key questions on the 2022 World Cup vote
A national nine news survey showed 95% of Australians don’t take yahoo 7 surveys seriously or comments from Aussie Rules followers on Australia’s chances of winning a football WC.
The key questions on the 2022 World Cup vote
Every country who entered the race to host 2018 and 2022 think they have a chance of winning it Sheek, otherwise you wouldn’t throw away millions of dollars.
It doesn’t mean they are child-like or innocent.
Those who didn’t think they would win didn’t enter.
Australia has hosted every major sporting event in the world including 2 football Youth World Cups, except for a FIFA WC.
We could certainly stage it here without any major dramas and that’s our biggest selling point.
World Cup win would be icing on the cake
He’s a scumbag and I hope someone gives him a payback one day.
World Cup win would be icing on the cake
Incredible MVDave how these AFL rats come out of their holes every time something good is about to happen for Australian football.
And 50 Pip clones too! 🙂
World Cup win would be icing on the cake
FFA didn’t drop the ball – they’ve done a great job under the circumstances.
Frank Lowy in particular, who for his age works tirelessly for the game he loves.
As everyone says (except Followers of the Behind) the AFL “made it impossible to put in a unified Australian bid and it wasn’t a good look internationally”.
Hope you people enjoy your few beers when the WC doesn’t come to Australia.
What then?
World Cup win would be icing on the cake
Spain is going to win 2018 and Qatar 2022.
Qatar has come in from 10/1 to odds on with the bookmakers and people with inside knowledge say they are a certainty.
People also claiming that the English Press “sting” was orchestrated and paid for by Qatar to get some heat off them and their backroom deals and cash bribes.
The key questions on the 2022 World Cup vote
Brazilians must be having a good long chuckle about the FIFA circus going crazy for 2018 and 2022 with Brazil 2014 already in the bag and no one challenging for it.
The key questions on the 2022 World Cup vote
The WC costs and AFL compensation is going to be a lot more than 500M – more like 3 billion, but the benefits were estimated at 5.6 billion.
Get your facts right before you accuse others of lying.
I guess you are another Aussie Rules clone and don’t really understand what’s going on,
except to try and discredit the bid as much as you can like the rest of you
and make sure you can still get your Kangaroos Demons game at the MCG.

Tom,
you forgot to mention that Lowy is a jew.
Humour, grace - and Elle - to sell Cup bid
Football only overtook the other codes in the last decade and became the biggest team sport in 2009.
What is your point?
Friday's decision pivotal to sport's future in Australia
According to the FIFA report SA had 3 million visitors to SA WC 2010.
Friday's decision pivotal to sport's future in Australia
I think some people underestimate Australian football and its popularity.
Football is already the number one sports code in Australia because:
• Highest football code participation rates in Australia among all ages, male and female – fastest growing sport
• Highest number of registered players, clubs and officials in Australia – 1.7 million registered players alone – 2010 ERASS
• Highest Australian FTA TV ratings – 7.1 Million viewers Socceroos v Japan 2006 WC at 2am in the morning – Roy Morgan Research
• Top 2 rating Australian Pay TV sports matches – Socceroos football – Foxtel
• Highest sports team international TV Ratings – Socceroos 2006 WC
• Highest Club football International TV ratings – Adelaide United v Gamba Osaka ACL Final – 500 million viewers
• Highest rating football competition – A-League shown in over a 100 countries to 30 million regular viewers
• Highest average crowd attendances – Socceroos 2006-2009
• Highest number of professional footballers playing overseas – over 200
• Highest paid footballer in 2010 – Harry Kewell $11.5 Million per year not counting endorsements
• Highest football player transfer fee – Harry Kewell $11.2 Million
World Cup is bigger than Ben Hur
Well said twatter.
And when you consider all the freebies and NAB bank accounts the AFL are giving away to children to get them to play AusKick and how expensive it is to play football, it still beats all the others by a long way – football is a great game to watch, play and coach – love it.
Friday's decision pivotal to sport's future in Australia
Sometimes its just about greed and money – and Qatar has plenty of both.

GWS Giants receive dual boost to future
Hmmmmmm
You know more about football than any of them dont you Steve?
We know what your on about Steve and you are on the verge of being ignored completely on any football topics.

“knockout blow” – where do you get these names from Pip? 🙂

Thanks Jiggles,
I’ve always said that the ARU and rugby union supporters have been the most mature about this whole WC bid thing and rightly so.
The Rugby WC in Sydney was fantastic – I went to the final too hoping to see a Wallabies win, but it was a great game and a great finish.
Hope we can savour some of that excitement again with a FIFA WC here.
