Better than i expected: and I did expect a good showing.
Though it did go a bit flat there for fifteen minutes late in the second.
I think that your comment that they were both in neutral was a good call.
(I have decided that watching on my two monitors, with your call on one of them, is the perfect way to watch footie – thanks John – I will be back next week. It’s good to have a bit of expert commentary along with the game.)

Onya Eagles.

Doggies completion rate and handling really is letting them down.

Just as i was starting to wonder about CE’s kicking game he sets up two tries with his boot.
Never happier to be completely wrong.
The last grubber was a special!!!
You might be right Jason – maybe it’s the fashion?
PS: I hate the name ‘Lottoland’ – I simply can’t stand it!

woo-hoo!

I am a bit disappointed in their showing – you can normally expect a bit better competition from the doggies.

Cherry-Evans kicking game is not what it used to be.
Jackson binning a bit harsh (and I am a one-eyed manly lad).
(I take that observation back)

My thoughts a few moments ago exactly Barry.

Sironen is playing a blinder!
Try by Kelly (26th minute)set up by the hard work in the two tackles beforehand done by Siro!
Kicking this week is disappointing.

Best start from the Eagles this year! 2 tries in 20 min. But that aside: Manly look strong.
Would have been three except for a head high tackle.

No. The answer is not to reduce the number of games nor to avoid wet weather.
You are trying to solve a problem where none exists.
Most of the people who are watching the game are at home in the midst of a bunch of like minded Aussies who are watching the game on tele.
You simply get a better view of the action on tele than you do at the ground.
Now I am not one to advocate for giving up on going to the footy every now and again – but when you go to the footy you are looking for a different experience to that you receive when you are watching a game on tele.
The answer is not to try and copy what the damn yanks are doing.
In fact there is no answer because you have simply invented the problem.
You should be celebrating the wonderful attendance via television that the NRL gets every week and every game – not trying to reduce the number of fixtures so that the size of the crowds at the grounds can match your expectations.
The NRL is not a game for nancy-boys and if a player can’t cope with the number of games then they can always go to work at Woollies instead.
So stop trying to solve a problem that exists only in your own head.
I think the season is just about the right length and I would bet a brass-razoo to a mound of bullion that the majority of fans would agree with me..

The NRL must look to the NFL for solutions

Fr’chrissakes most who have been watching the game on tele normally have a better range of more interesting and insightful comments than do those interviewed at half-time.
I don’t want my footie players to be articulate or insightful; I want them focused on beating the bejesus out of their opponents and on listening to their coach.
Couldn’t agree more Rob.
You might also be right Max: abolish the half-time interview and replace it with some sexist and wholly inappropriate footage of the cheerleaders. Or anything. (An extra add break would likely be more informative.)
