Nothing but disappoint awaits us. Won’t make it past the group stages, although they can prove me because I won’t complain.

What awaits the Socceroos in Brazil 2014?

I don’t see him as being crucial to NSW. He and Merritt look like weak links to be fair.

Watmough sits out NSW Origin training

Queensland by 4, Smith needs to prove he is better than Farah so I expect him to lead and become man of the match and Cronk to score the first try!

2013 State of Origin: game two preview

I think the real issue here is; what was the Queensland team doing in dirty dunder?

What a weird scoreline.

You give no reason as to why the Storm have peaked this season. Silly article. No basis at all and is just a bias view that is obviously blind to the Storm and their current form. They will win this season.

Why the Storm have peaked for 2013

Great article. Well done! I agree with a lot in this. I do not like the ray price statue thing at all, how dare they!?

Sporting officialdom gone mad

I would love to see the Jets take off to be honest, their fans are pretty loyal and it would be a reward for them.

Newcastle Jets are taking off

I agree. If they mucked him around, he is entitled to get sick of it and move on. I hope he wins a few titles over the next few years with the Bulldogs and also knocks Manly out of the comp at some point – AT BROOKVALE OVAL!

Manly fans: give Hasler the respect he deserves

Once again the Storm are targeted for wrestling tactics when EVERY club does! Silly people.

Bellamy poaches Judd to wrestle back waning premiership tilt

Money can buy you a lot of things, but it can’t buy victories on a field. It didn’t give the players momentum nor the toughness to keep going. The only thing it did was keep them in Melbourne – where they wanted to be. We lost two grand finals in that 5 year period, even a world club challenge, finished fourth in one of our peak years during the scandal. I know it is hard to believe but money can’t buy everything.

Why can’t people just remember the good old times instead of reflecting a bad light on everything.

Unbearable lightness of being a sports fan

Awesome post. I think Hunt will remain in the AFL long term and I still think Izzy will be there for his full contract, but I am not sure about after that. Either way, I have been amazed at Hunt’s transformation, and as a League fan who was not bitter, I am quite proud of what he has done. I like how Izzy and everyone around him is sticking to the one cause and I wish him luck. It just must be hard with the media and ‘experts’ writing him off every week.

Believe it or not, Israel Folau is not Karmichael Hunt

He was aggressively told to leave. This girl was bullied and discriminated against based on looks.

Another allegation: are there no Saints in St. Kilda?

So 21 is old now? Also, I saw a few different sources quote different ages, therefore I thought it was best to leave it out. I went with what I knew were truths and not media beat up in order to avoid information that is misleading and untruthful.

Another allegation: are there no Saints in St. Kilda?

Great article. I agree with the last few points on a broader scale as I just don’t see the importance of winning Western Sydney. The NRL is paranoid, the AFL thinks it is king and now it is overflowing into Union. All this sport has to do is, as you said, get on free to air and then League and Union together will run the AFL club into the ground.

Why the Waratahs need to win the west

I am so excited for this years final series. I know we say it every year, the ladder is getting tighter and quality is on the up; this year it is proved. Last year Melbourne were skipping along, in the middle of their 12 game winning streak, while all the other teams jostled for position. This year, 10 teams are playing for the top 8, almost every one of them could finish top four and the Storm aren’t so far ahead. This will be a great finals series, I can feel it in every field goal kicked or to be kicked.

Monday night thriller kickstarted finals fever

I remember in 2008, I attended a semi final in Brisbane, all decked out in my Melbourne Storm gear. We were going to lose the match all game, it just looked that way! I was so nervous and upset, but then Greg Inglis crossed in the corner and we had snatched victory and knocked out the Broncos. I was ecstatic.

But then I learnt how it felt last season, to be put of the finals serious by a fast finishing squad. The Warriors played their grand final against us and we just could not beat them. I will never forget watching the Warriors put that ball in, having flash backs to 2008 again when the Warriors beat us in the last moments of a quarter final.

It is tough being a sports fan as you say, but the rewards outweigh the negatives easily.

Unbearable lightness of being a sports fan

I disagree. People come up with the argument that if you can win by a field normally, you can win in GP with a field goal. Well if you lose by one in the last minute in regular time, you get nothing, but if you make it to 80:30 then you get a point. 30 extra seconds of bad football on your part could send you into the finals. It would be stupid. A draw should be avoided and the points need to be the same.

What about Jennings? He is doing very well when they shift the ball.

Good game tonight. It is back and forth. Lawrence is carving up but something is wrong with Benji. been a bit off.

Because then teams would give up in GP. They need to be made to work for points and another 10 minutes is working. I don’t like the draw because at the end of the day, a result is what everyone is after.

No kneejerk reactions to the golden point debate

That might complicate things a little bit. I think leave it as is, 2 points for a win, none for a loss and 1 for a draw after 90 minutes.

No kneejerk reactions to the golden point debate

If you think Golden Point is unfair now, just add in a unlimited tackle system and see what happens.

I don’t think players generally do things they wouldn’t normally do, I feel they think they have more of a license to take risks. It is so thrilling to me, no matter who is playing or how it is being played. I know a lot of people the same. Let’s face it, the draw is boring. If it is truly deserved, it will be a draw at the conclusion of the 10 minutes. State of Origin was brilliant yes, but you can’t tell me that you would have hated that game going into golden point. Remember when Matty Bowen intercepted a Kimmorly pass to win the game in the 83rd minute, everyone loved that.

Sonny Bill really does have a knack of creating things for children to imitate. As a kid, whenever we put on a big shot or saw a big shot in Rugby League, we would call it a ‘Sonny Bill’. Now over at union he is making all sorts of trends that will stick and I hope that when he comes back to League, he brings back his shoulder charge.
