Nathan Lyon comes through tough test
Agree with the writer here. Johnson,Pattionson,Lyon and Doherty should be our bowling attack.

Lovely! BCCI get what they deserve!
India vs Australia First Test: Cricket live scores, updates
Right, Hughes is a key person…he has the ability to play well in slow, testing wickets!
Cowan crucial to Australian cricket's chances
i agree with Tra here 100%…We cant develop greats in one day! Give time to Cowan, he will surely improve and prove to be a future great! looks like out folks want instant heros, which can be true only in movies…
Cowan crucial to Australian cricket's chances
The chances that may help Doherty is, tracks here specially Chennai help a spinner like Doherty! and India has more right handers like Sehwag, Sachin,Kohli, Dhoni, VIjay than lert armers, which puts Doherty in to serious contention here! If Doherty doesnt play, Clarke should be bowling more overs!
Focus on Warner for first Test
i think you’ve got it right here! this is squad that will be selected most probably!
Focus on Warner for first Test
You’ve got it right mate! But i believe Paine can be considered based on his past exploits against Spin and India!
My Australian team for India
Hi Andy,
My XI was from the squad that was picked! As i’ve mentioned, O’Keefe would have been the best pick, since he can bat too.See Aussie quicks actually do better than spinners(Except Warne) in the sub-continent.Kindly remember Galle(the world’s biggest turner) where Aus won with Lyon+3 quicks! Lets frankly agree that we dont have a Swann or a Paneser! We have to play Wade at no.6 not because he is a fantastic batsman! I am sure he has the ability to develop in to one sooner but when compared with our potential no.6s –> Max,Henriques,Smith and Khawaja, he is better. And concerning Khawaja, i stick to my view that he is poor against Spin when compared with Steve Smith.Let me clarify that i am suggesting Steve Smith here only as a batsmen not as an all-rounder.Khawaja in the practice game played when the ball was new and he scored less than SS, who had to deal with the older ball that gripped and turned! Khawaja would be surely there within the best 6 for my ashes pick though! The second spinner ofcourse would be the skipper! I believe he can bowl 10 overs per day atlest…the quicks should go with the stump-stump line consistently which would make the batsmen attack Lyon and Clarke, there by giving wickets! As i see it, this is the best strategy in the sub-continent as the ball would swing for a very less time! Surely i would have picked Tim Paine! If Max is here irrespective of his first-class record, why not Paine!
My Australian team for India
Good to see a fine spinner in the making…i havent given up on Lyon yet! He is still work in progress..would be nice to see Agar and Lyon operate in tandem..not sure Agar would play in this series though…
Just who is Ashton Agar?
Sanjay,
your view on Khawaja is surprising. So far, i ve not seen him playing confidently against Spin, having watched him on numerous occasions. No doubt he is a great in the making and i am sure he will adjust his technique to play spin better, but at the moment he is still average against Spin. Believe me, Steve Smith will surely play spin better. Also, they could have chosen Tim Paine as a reserve keeper and batsmen! remember he played pretty well in India, back in 2010! George Bailey would’nt fare poorer either! And for all criticism against Max, he has the ability to turn games quickly! I do agree that his first class record is horrible, but he is one set of players who improve with oppertunities…
Traditional virtues can bring success in India
Cant agree with you more, you are spot on. Need to be patient!
