Someone should tell Seb Pasquali that Messi is the exception, not the rule
The only two teams that won the league outside of Buenos Aires province are Rosario central and newells. Talleres de Cordoba almost won it in the 70s but they loose incredibly a final with independiente
The Superclasico: An Argentine passion
I dont know if Wikipedia is right but it is true that in Buenos Aires has many clubs. In the rest of the country there are cities with one or two clubs
The Superclasico: An Argentine passion
Yes… arsenal is from Avellaneda too
Banfield is from Lomas de Zamora
Defensa y Justicia is From Florencio Varela
In summary … almost every town near Buenos Aires has a team in the highest categories of Argentine football.
Still, the province of Santa Fe is the largest producer of players: Messi, Batistuta, Lavessi, Maxi Rodriguez, Di Maria, etc
The Superclasico: An Argentine passion
Estudiasntes is From La Plata, the capital of the Buenos Aires province.
Independiente and Racing are from Avellaneda.
From Buenos Aires (The city) the most important teams are:
Boca
River
San Lorenzo
Velez
Argentinos
Huracan
The Superclasico: An Argentine passion
San Lorenzo is a big team in Buenos Aires but Boca remains as the major club in the capital city (and the rest of the country)
The Superclasico: An Argentine passion
JAJAJAJAAJAJAJAJ YES, THAT PROBABLY WILL HAPPEN. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE WHO WILL BETHE BOSS OF “THE TWELVE” …MICHaEL “THE GRANDFATHER”… but leaving jokes behind i think that this could be a good idea, some years ago the MLS and Boca tried something simililar. I think it was afther Boca won the Libertadores in the year 2003.
South America: The next step in the A-League
what I mean is that the FFA should promote some kind of deal with the big South American clubs. Teams like Boca Juniors or Vasco da Gama, who are world famous, having affiliated teams playing in the A-League. Imagine a Boca Juniors located in Darwin. The FFA should take the fame of these clubs and exploit in their favor, promoting the sport throughout the country.
Newcastle Jets fiasco puts regional A-League expansion to rest
Great article. In my opinion the a league should look to south america and do the same thing that melbourne heart did whhit manchester city
Newcastle Jets fiasco puts regional A-League expansion to rest
The phenomenon to which I refer is something that is starting to happen. I think very soon (in the next two World Cups) A new champion will add to the elite. A comment was referring to Colombia as the new world champion in 2018. Russia agree with that but would allow me to add that, in my view, the United States reached a defining instance of the cup very soon.
The rebellion: Traditionally smaller football nations looking to take the world by storm
I’m not triying to glorify the hooligans. I just telling a story about a guy who looks much more like a hooligan than a football player, a “mala leche”, as we say in Argentina. Thanks
Ps. The tittle of the article is the original
My favourite football hooligan
nickoldschool ‘re right. my memory played tricks on me with Bianchi.
Not all of football's greatest have taken the World Cup stage
I’m from argentina and its true that i don’t know anything about his contract, but that is not the point of all this. My point its simple: its this the right move for a young kid who is just starting as a professional footballer?
