TJ at 9, yes. Barrett at 10, no.

With all that is going on off the field for the Rebels, I wouldn’t be surprised if the wheels fall off quick over the coming weeks when they face the Crusaders, Blues, Reds, Chiefs, Brumbies and Drua (in Fiji) over the coming weeks…
Five things: Lesson Aussie rugby can learn from Kiwis - and why next month will determine whether SR gap has closed
Would be great to have more teams, but where are the players coming from, and more importantly the $$$ to pay them? I think we should be including 3-4 of the top Japanese teams.

Interested to know who the ‘several’ ABs in the Highlanders pack are Nick?! From my count there’s only De Groot across the whole squad.

COMMENT: Australian rugby is a depressing picture - the RA board must be axed and the constitution changed
Good to get this out on the table, but the devil is in the detail. Who do SOARR propose to install as the interim Chairman? What is their plan to bring money, sponsors and fans back into the game? What would the new Board structure look like, and who do they suggest be nominated for the Board positions? What criteria would be required, business experience, rugby knowledge, a postcode on Sydney’s north shore?

To be fair, he was watching the Blues…just not sure why it’s so hard when you have an overlap to throw the ball to the man rather than on the ground or into touch!
The Wrap: 'Take them to a dark place' - A quiet round grabs eyeballs for all the wrong reasons
The Force should be printing out your comment and reading it over and over this week Gary. Hard to explain to my 10 year old why the basic skill level of these ‘professionals’ is so poor.
The Wrap: 'Take them to a dark place' - A quiet round grabs eyeballs for all the wrong reasons
The intent was certainly there by both players, but the outcome wasn’t as bad as the earlier yellow card.

Absolutely, social media is the new free to air. I watch NFL on X. The women’s Super Rugby Aupiki final in NZ will be streaming live on TikTok.

People also want value for money which means entertainment both on and off the pitch. Rugby is competing in the entertainment market and currently it’s not very entertaining.
What the Rebels players should be demanding to know, as Twiggy's ex-rival throws a familiar hail Mary
It’s great that there are plans underway to save the Rebels as a player pathway, but WHERE ARE THE FANS?? For Australia’s sporting capital, regular crowds of under 10,000 people while AFL attracts 50,000+ shows it’s the wrong market, especially for Super Round.
'We have to keep the essence of what rugby is about': All Black legend's worrying words of warning
Rugby is a game for all people. Young, old, short, tall, thin, fat. It used to be a game that rewarded the ‘fatties’ up front as much as it rewarded the ‘pretty boys’ out back. Now the laws reward kicking, scrumming and mauling teams to death. The constant stoppages and resets reward bigger players to the extent that the current World Champions can pick 7 forwards on an extended 8 man bench.
People want to see attacking rugby. The flyers scoring tries built off the back of uncompromising forward play, skill in the air, players with pace and guile, quick ruck recycling…
Rugby combines all the best aspects of AFL and the NRL, plus more, but until people can see the product on free to air or social media it will continue to be in decline.

To be fair Sheek, your post epitomises what’s wrong with rugby. A long winded ramble which had me turning off before half time…

How Schmidt landed All Blacks icon at Wallabies - and why '80 per cent of coaching is selection'
Exciting times for Aussie rugby. Here’s hoping people don’t get ahead of themselves and are willing to put in the hard yards.

Pretty defensive of old Taniela aren’t you TWAS. If you want a lazy, injury prone prop, great. Personally, I’d love to see him shed some kgs and play regularly.
'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire
Would be really interested to see how Tupou compares to other international standard props in terms of activity around the field. Seems to me he may play long minutes but his contribution is relatively small.

That you Eddie? 🥊 😛

“Well done kiwis for showing just how dirty your players are.”
Assuming you’re a Saffa? Accusing other teams of being dirty. Is it still April Fools?

Rugby is a collision sport. Absolutely outlaw thuggish acts, but there’s always going to be contact and accidental injuries as a result of large men coming together at speed. Boxing, martial arts, MMA, ice hockey all have contact, it’s part and parcel of their sports. If players play the game and are happy to bank the pay cheque, then injuries are just one of the unfortunate outcomes that happen sometimes.

I wouldn’t get too far ahead of yourself, the Highlanders are absolutely awful this year. Won’t be surprised if they end up last.
