What a thoroughly demoralising day if you are an Australian cricket fan.

England started the day at 3-31 and went on to score 302 for the loss of just 2 wickets.

Bowling just was not threatening enough all day.

England end the day at 5-333 with Root not out 178, what a tremendous effort.

Thats it from me, hope you enjoyed the blog.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in and or got involved, despite the way the day panned out i enjoyed bringing you the action via the Roar blog.

Suneer will be back tomorrow, so for now its goodbye from me.

Thanks

But what of the aussies?

They must show some fight in this second innings.

The game is so far out of their reach that the pressure should be off and it will be a great opportunity for people like Clarke, Hughes and Usman to get some time in the middle.

Lets face it, they are gonna have plenty of that.

Bresnan put on a wonderful stand as nightwatchman, and Bell chimed in with a great and quickish 74.

It was all England on this day 3

England just going through the motions.

Lead 540 and there is really not much else to say, so im gonna start wrapping up now.

Root is on 159 and after giving up that chance on 10 he has played very well.

With half an hour to go it doesnt look like a declaration is coming tonight.

The ball is now 100 overs old.

At what stage does it HAVE to be changed? when its nothing but a shard of ragged leather?

Bell goes for a very well played 74.

That ball went like a rocket to mid wicket, but it was well taken by Chris Rogers

The full array of shots are being displayed now.

But then a loose shot smacked straight to mid wicket and Bell is OUT!

FOUR to Bell down the leg side.

Then a swipe through cover for another.
