Sirousleh entertaining article Machooka

A Chook's butchers at the Rugby Championship, and why this year's is the best evaaaaaaa

I blame you Machooka

How the Kiwis ruined rugby for Australians

Great article – thanks!

It's trendy to just blame Cheika, but you'd be wrong

Yep. Too soon. ?

The Wrap: It’s ‘four on the floor’ for out of tune Australian teams

Yep ? They have had some good times up til now but as you say, out of their depth last night. The question in my mind – is it an aberration because this is the first time against this level of opposition or can they learn and improve. Having DHP back will add some metal.

Yep, fair call. I thought the Melbourne backline had been a strength in previous games but the looked completely outclassed last night under sustained pressure.

Ouch, that was a serious Caning from a quality side. Congrats to Canes fans.

I thought the scrum improved for Melbourne – not sure why it wasn’t more dominant against the Tahs.

Some very poor decision making across the park when the pressure started to mount, even Genia taking a quick tap in his own 22! On field leadership does not seem clear – sometimes Genia sometimes Coleman, got to be clearer and stronger.

Naivalu was very poor against Sharks and was rightly dropped from starting line up, was poor again off the bench. I suspect he’s gone when DHP comes back.

Mafi… pretty impressive stat, 100m in 40 mins. Great intensity and a real team lifter.

Benchmark has been set, 12 rounds to improve.

Yeah, the throw in needs work from all the hookers

Rebels return to form in feeding frenzy over Sharks

Agree about the kick/chase. The lack of kick chasers was very evident last week and in stark comparison to Tahs effective chasing.

Rebels return to form in feeding frenzy over Sharks

Congrats Tahs, certainly didn’t see that coming at 37 mins into the first half.

Tahs support for their kickers was excellent whereas the Rebs had several high balls that seemed to have no chasers.

The scrum! Wow. I kept waiting for Tahs to get monstered and it just never came. Kudos, you can’t give away close to 60 kegs and do that without some excellent technique. Is the Doctor finally showing what Cheika sees in him? Ned Flanders too? Ned seemed to be showing a bit of leadership.

Folau on the right wing? I don’t know what all complaining was about – when Cheika doesn’t put him there people complain that he doesn’t see Folau’s natural position to capitalise on cross field kicks. When Gibson gives it a go – his mob reckon he’s an idiot. Seemed ok to me.

Rebels streak ruined by terrific Tahs

Five talking points from Australia's loss to England

Sam Carter – man of the match on debut? His first few Wallabies games showed a lot of promise. Let’s hope he gives a performance like that again.

England vs Wallabies Spring Tour Test preview and prediction

Devastating for a couple of up and coming players in fine form.

Tui and Dempsey injured in Wallabies' win over Barbarians

Agree Scott, so much angst against micro choices. Hope Cheika is playing the long game.

Wallabies team for Springboks Test: Three set for run-on debuts as Hanigan gets demoted

Geez you guys are harsh! I saw two evenly matched sides putting each other under enormous pressure. Pressure leads to mistakes, and there were plenty. If they were basic skill errors I’d be upset but I think that mostly they were pressure based.

Loved having Hodge back in the side, runs great angles, good core strength and leg drive and a massive boot. Coleman did a ton of work as did TPN. Beale and Folau asked questions in attack and Beale’s kicking added something the Wallabies have lacked recently. A draw was a fair outcome but I reckon Springbok fans would feel like the game was theirs for the taking.

It's a draw! Wallabies and Boks tie on 23-all

MitchO – saw Nasarini last weekend in Perth. He had a cracking game. Looks promising.

A good time to reflect on the ARU’s Strategic Plan

http://www.rugby.com.au/news/2016/04/11/09/30/new-five-year-strategy-for-australian-rugby

ARU Strategic Plan

1. Make Rugby a game for all – Our Community
2. Ignite Australia’s passion for the game – Our Fans
3. Build sustainable success in the professional game – Our Elite Teams
4. Create excellence in how the game is run – Our Administration

Execution of the Strategic Plan

1. Tear the heart out of one of the most strongest rugby communities
2. Sap any passion for the game through inept management
3. Couldn’t beat the Super Rugby Kiwi teams once!
4. Hahahahahahaha, no… really… bahahahahah

The sun goes down in the west - a dark day for Australian rugby

I am dumbfounded by this decision.

I grew up in Sydney and played the great game. Never even close to the skills of Machooka but had fun anyway. My experience in the Lindfield Under 18s taught me a lot about the meaning of “team”.

I moved to WA in 1993 and was a founding member of the Force. In a city with large representation from New Zealand, South Africa and the UK it’s not surprising that there is huge support for rugby. I remember a Wallabies vs Springboks game that set a crowd record at Subi Oval.

I have lots of mates that have kids playing rugby here. What an enormous disappointment they must be feeling now. The kids will no longer have a team to aspire to.

That being said, I think the Force have to shoulder some of the blame. They have been poorly managed since the start. We were charged a 15% premium on our membership because there were more than 8 of us who wanted to sit together. When the Honey Badger played his last game he was the only player to come and chat to the kids and fans. Too little too late?

Ultimately I think the ARU does not seem to understand their role. They appear to be more interested in $$$ than the growth of the sport. I know there is a link but more $$$ does not mean a better sport with a more engaged player base. Pay per view deals add $$$ but appear to do little to grow the game.

Anyhoots, a sad, sad day in WA. Is Melbourne alive and rejoicing? I imagine it will be one column on page 10? Headline news over here.

I think the ARU need to have a long, hard look at themselves.

This lil chook is sad

Oh dear, that is disappointing, I hope that does not seal the game.
