G’day Colin
Not sure if you were aiming that comment at my article or just venting, because I didn’t mention a single thing about McKenzie’s personal life. Regardless of who he’s dating or not dating, I don’t think he was the best choice for the Wallabies
McKenzie's nationality was the only Link to the Wallabies gig
The Reds had a squad full of Wallabies that just needed direction, and McKenzie did that. Like I said, it was a good achievement. But I think the Brumbies were in a far worse position in 2011 than the Reds were in 2009 (club wise and the cattle at the coaches disposal)

The only way that the Dog’s can win is if Souths carry an attitude like this into the game. Hasler will have his charges fired up and you can be sure that if Souths aren’t on their game, Canterbury will win. And after reading this over-confident nonsense, I sincerely hope the Dogs do win.

That Sims tackle should not have been a penalty, or a suspension. He clearly tries to pull out of the tackle and he is a massive unit going at pace. Simple collision that comes in contact sports.
Seven questions from Round 1 of the NRL finals
Just read over your proposed divisions, didn’t see that initially. I can’t see those teams in Division 3 wanting to travel all round the country to play footy, especially considering that they probably have a very amateur team
Rugby University model should be reconsidered
Nice article, you’ve clearly done a heap of research!
I like the idea, but the main problem is that rugby simply isn’t popular enough in Australia for investors to provide the astronomical funds needed for the plan to work. The different divisions is a clever idea for smaller playing groups to compete in, but the college system in the US works because the teams are in close proximity to each other. Who would the South Australian teams play against? That is assuming they would get enough numbers to make a team! Anyway, would love to see it happen- but it just wouldn’t
Rugby University model should be reconsidered
Great news. If the NRC can uncover just one Wallaby, I would call it a success.
Rebels sign first local player to Super squad
I think the problem is that the majority of the players are flashy. Their whole backline is filled with players who need a no-nonsense half who can direct play. Shaun Johnson is a fantastic halfback but I’m not convinced of his leadership skils. A player like Maloney would be perfect for them, a real shame he left.
I actually picked the Warriors to be grand-finalists this year, so I was as disappointed as Warriors fans when they crashed out!
What is wrong with the Warriors?
Nice article. I completely agree with you about Beale, chuck him in at fullback and move Izzy to one wing. Beale is a triple threat with defenders in that case when he’s fullback, and can take the ball to the line in a way that doesn’t hinder the Australian attack. Always thought Beale was a better fullback than an inside back
SPIRO: Wallabies come right, but what to do with Kurtley Beale?
I reckon a big weekend of upsets is on our hands.Souths will get past Manly, and Bulldogs to knock the Storm out. And I think the other two matches will be a lot closer than you predicted

Word is that the Raiders are after Josh Hoffman to fill in at fullback. I hope they resist the urge, Wighton is a gun!
Who are the next superstars of the NRL?
Yeah it was close for me, but I’m just really impressed with how easily Brooks leads the Tigers around. Moses has been awesome too but in terms of plugging the Benji Marshall hole, I couldn’t go past Brooks
Who are the next superstars of the NRL?
No I think he’s actually attempting to pick a legitimate team
A Queenslander's NSW Origin team

Pearce has a better all round game than Reynolds, and while he does have a big forward pack, that’s not why he was picked in the first place. I just think winning a premiership will be a massive load of his shoulders, and he could play Origin with a level of confidence we haven’t seen
Or he could be crap again, but I still wouldn’t pick Reynolds
Will NSW still have the Blues in 2014?
I’m still yet to see his “tactical astuteness” employed at the Wallabies. All I see is a continued selection of Rob Simmons and Sekope Kepu and a very grim World Cup looming
