Brett,I am amazed how almost everybody seems to believe that the Pumas have a terrible discipline but when I look at the stats on YC for the RCH 1) WAL with 3, 2) AB with 2, 3) Pumas with 1 and 4) SA with nill – It is a bit more serious when I look at the JAGS stats were they stand 2nd with 8 YC tied with WARATHAS and the leader is Reds with 10
Just a comment!

The Big Rugby Championship Question: The standout individuals

RF the Pumas have a concentration problem – they have to learn how to finish games (lost to SA in SA on the last 10 minutes) or keep up a very good game for 80 minutes instead of 60 – and one important is repeat a good performance in the following match!! I believe they need a good sport psychologist!!

This is a very young team , with most of the players in the 21 – 23 years old range and representing a country who became part of an annual competition at Tier 1 level just 5 years ago and this is their first year taking part of a professional club tournament. Local rugby is totally amateur. Needless to say that a good number of experienced and good professional players can not be part of the Pumas because they play in Europe!!

Give us a couple more years!!

Five talking points from Wallabies vs Argentina

Aussie – care to look at statistics on yellow cards since Pumas were admitted to RCH? Leading in Yellow Cards with 15 Wallabies followed by AB with 13 and tied with 8 Sprinboks and Pumas- This quite answers a lot!!

Now, for some reason it seems that the Pumas are closely looked at, and punished – which I know it can’t be – Now when you have a referee like Garces and the TMO or linesmen, during the last game in Salta, which fail to see any of the 4 high and dangerous tackles from Mohoje (who finally succeeded in sending JMH out of the field! on his 5th attempt) or the even the dangerous high tackle by De Tout, but they immediately spotted a “late tackle with shoulder” from Herrera (and don’t take me wrong: he deserves the YC!) it sorts of make you believe that there are double standards on some referees!!

I hate having this feeling and even more when I see no action from part of the Sanzaar authorities! Really!! Mohoje cited and only given a slap on his hand?

Very well said Nahuel! And no need to apologize for your English!!

Romain Poite and Jerome Garces: The world of two vastly different referees

David, I can sympathize with your opinion on Roman Poite, but I absolutely disagree with your opinion on Garces! Did you watch the Pumas – Bok game last Saturday? His lack of consistency with respect to dangerous tackles is unbelievable!
He yellow carded Herrera for a late tackle using his shoulder and never once saw the 4 high tackles made by Mohoje!! Even the one that JM Hernandez was grabbed literally by his neck and lifted horizontally by another Bok player! He did not see the dangerous high tackle from De Toit? One of the reasons for the game to become dangerous is when referees continue to show different standards when acting in the pitch!

It is even worse – I have been involved in rugby U all my life and I was brought up with knowing that the referee is always right, even when he makes a mistake (he is human after all!) but when we start seeing such blunt standard differences in a game – the sport is at risk of loosing one of the key elements that makes RU great! Needles to say it makes the pitch a dangerous place!

Argentina snatch win over South Africa

Delighted by the Puma’s win over the Boks!! The Pumas made great improvement to the scrum and line out from last week – great 1st half! and above all kept a cool mind to close the game despite the injuries and with a team that had lost their natural leaders.

One last word – we have been always told and it is one of the great things of our sport – The referee is always right!! This said, Mr. Garces and the TMO reviews the late tackle from Ramiro Herrera and sin binned him, Ok he deserves it Now, why the different standards toward the 4 dangerous tackles from Mojohe not including the head on tackle and shoulder hit that injured JM Hernandez or the one made by De Toit, Neither the line refs or the TMO saw this dangerous tackles?? This is something that annoys me! For much less Pumas has been cited, sin binned and even red carded!!

Jaguares vs Kings highlights: Jaguares smash Kings for second win

Die Hard, why do you are so disrespectful -Although a lot of Jags players do play for the national team, so do a lot of the Chief players and quite probably some new additions will come from it. This is SR and has nothing to do with National Test games! If we look how long it took the Chiefs to become what thay are today and you look at the Jags (this is their first SR and only played 3 games) and by the way the average age of the Jags players is close to 23! Give us some time!
