Answer me this: What kind of sick idea for a job is it where skinny men are forced to run around in circles for hours on end with a small metal apparatus in their mouth that they’re forced to blow repeatedly; all the whilst being surrounded and berated by much larger, sweaty men?
Similar to Beethoven’s Ninth symphony, 2012 could be one for the Richmond Football Club to remember. One where they come out on top, silence the doubters and overcome the pressure.
Since the days of the spirited Jim Stynes and the loose larrikin that is Spider Everitt, the AFL has been lacking in quality, charismatic ruckmen that have the spirit to match their talent.

We all hear the stories and read the news about ‘good guys’ or ‘great characters’ in the AFL. Never have we seen a team collectively show as much generosity, humility and downright selflessness to their opposition as the 2012 Melbourne Demons.
Since the dawn of time there has been good and evil, love and hate, black and white, and the deep loathing of the Collingwood Football Club.
