If life was a game of rugby it would be half time and although I had a few ruck marks I'd be ready to get stuck right back into the second half. I'd be looking forward to the end of match drinks mostly!

The Waratahs can still afford to drop a match and easily still finish 2nd. If they drop 2 they still might finish 2nd but they’ll need some losing or winning bonus points along the way.
They could mathematically lose 3 more and still top their conference. And go into the playoffs in 3rd position.
So no if they lose this weekend they are not written off.
It would be great if they got the win though.

How could you possibly remember that article and whether i took people down on it. i don’t even recall that. It was 4 years ago.
You would only remember that if you had a vested interest in it. How could you comment
you say you’ve been on here since 2009 yet have only just signed up.
Your suspect and you know it!

Hang on a minute.

I hope you realise we all don’t actually take it that seriously. Probably appears that way.

BUSTED!

The previous days article? How on earth do you recall this. i don’t even recall it, I’m presuming I wrote it?
How could anyone be offended by someone being asked how their humble pie tasted after they’d written a one sided artile telling everyone that the local side could not possibly win?
Is that you Scott? It is isn’t it.
Hope you are well. Good to hear from you. Hope you don’t mind too much that I showed you up for the charlatan you were.

There was a lot more to it than that and you know it.
It didn’t even begin to analyse the Waratahs strengths and weaknesses and it had the foul stench of the parochialism I had called him out on all of that year. Which he’d so conveniently denied. He was hiding under the guise of some kind of higher order expert or some such. At the emd of the day he was just another parochial Queensalnder with an anti NSW syndrome.
What all his expertise came down to was, ‘I don’t like to be proven wrong so I’m just going to use all my expertise to say that the Waratahs are not the Crusaders’.
expert yeah right!
Is 2018 the new 2014 for the Waratahs?
how did you find rugby? I know its played in Germany? How about Sweden?
Is 2018 the new 2014 for the Waratahs?
Who’s rewriting history.
He wrote an article explaining in paragraph after paragraph of detail why the Crusaders could not possibly lose without any counter argument or any anlaysis of the Waratahs. It was the most one sided piece of sports journalism I’ve read on this site and that was saying something.
It takes two teams to play a game of rugby and he chose to write an article about one of those teams because deep down he just couldn’t stand the thought of the waratahs winning.
I’d battled his anti Waratah bias all year that year. he’d written countless article picking holes in Waratahs players under the guise that his parochialism was not a factor. I recall him criticisng Waratahs players in the french series that we’d won stating the argument that it was just the french. Then when I pointed out the other playesr in the wallabies that were not Waratahs had also just played the french, he had no logical answer as to why he’d pin pointed only waratahs within the Wallaby set up.
The Waratahs were the form team, they hadn’t lost a game in months, no one had got even close to beating them in that time and they’d broken the competion record for the best for and against in its history at the time. Plus they had the home ground advantage (the idea that 60,000 people at homebush would not be a factor is one of the more ridiculous notions I’ve ever come across).
Yet all he could come up with was, yeah but they’re not thte Crusaders.
Then when I asked him how his’ humble pie’ had tasted he and his band of followers cried home to momma.

The 2014 Waratahs lost 4 games in the first half of the season. As has the 2018 Waratahs.

AJ I will tell you this. After the Chiefs game, the only game that worries me is playing the Reds in Queensland. They look a side that if they got it right they are as dangerous as anyone. And they are a due for a win against the Tahs to be frank.
Other than that the Waratahs have a very easy run into the finals. Rebels, Sunwolves, Brumbies. Doesn’t get any easier than that. No complacency though!
Is 2018 the new 2014 for the Waratahs?
It’s a good question. Allow me to clarify.
If you remember 2014 it was the same forward and back interplay that we’re seeing today. Look at some of the tries over the past few weeks, no 8’s passing to wingers to score. Off the back of our big ball carriers getting us on the front foot. Off loading after contact. It’s 2014 all over again.
The only difference is that this year we’ve adopted the dual openside ploy, allowing us to play an even wider expansive game.
It was also a similar rush defence which we’ve seen us go back to over the last few weeks.

The refereeing continued to be one sided. Right until the last second of the match.
It was suspiciously one sided to say the least.

This was the exact style of comment I combatted for months in 2014.
As I said in the article even on the eve of the final, that so called expert, tried to tell everyone how the Waratahs could not possibly win.
That so called expert from Queensland that is. Telling the masses what they want to hear.
Here I am the one telling you what is correct but what goes agaisnt the grain of popular opinion.
You’ll see

The reason you haven’t seen me around is because I haven’t been around. I haven’t written article for years on rugby.
I was starting to enjoy myself now I’m remmebering why I stopped coming on here.
Are all the reds supporters actually the same person? They all have the same opinions.
Is 2018 the new 2014 for the Waratahs?
great comment.
I think it is fascinating that the Hurricanes and Crusaders will probably finish 1st and 4th, and can not play the final together. One will need to beat the other in a semi final.
Is 2018 the new 2014 for the Waratahs?
It is highly likely that the waratahs will not play a NZ side again until the final, after this weekend of course.
