For as long as I can remember football fans have complained about a lack of free-to-air coverage for the game. They’ve bemoaned the unfair advantage given to other codes by Australia’s commercial media to maintain the status-quo.

Who are the true A-League champs?

You think A-League crowds are low? Wait until around half the teams in the league have nothing to play for by mid-way through the season. With no relegation and minimal cup spots to qualify for it would never work. Besides, I love finals, great atmosphere and some of the best football you'll ever see. Looking back at some of the great games in Australian domestic football, the games that come to my mind are the forst Brisbane v Central Coast grand final and the spectacular 3-3 Glory v Wolves Grand Final. You want to take that away? Why shun Australian sporting culture for what's overseas?

Western Sydney’s new A-League team: What’s in a name?

Wanderers might have history here, I get that, and it's by far the best of the nominated names. However is already tied up with high profile teams in the UK, and they will always have first billings on the name. From that persepctive, I'd prefer to see something unique to the club and people.
