Yeah Ive stuck my neck out on a few here that could come back to bite, but we’ll find out soon enough I guess.
It may not be Costa today but I just think Boetsch will be in for a reality check once he faces Silva, Bisping, Weidman or even Vitor. He’s a tough guy but I don’t think he has the class to match it with the best.
I also somehow forgot about Wineland v Pickett for FOTN contention. Very good chance it will win it, should be a slugfest.

If Anderson fights GSP next year it will be his one fight for the year. No Middleweight contender will get a title fight until 2014.

Never said anything about that? Was as surprised and disappointed as anyone that Jones turned down the fight. Just didn’t see the point of giving someone an interim title when the real title is going to be defended next month anyway.

– GSP has been out for a year with a torn ACL and has shown a willingness to fight often when uninjured. The Welterweight division would not be held up for too long.
– We don’t need 3-4 Middleweight title fights a year, but we need at least one a year. The ‘rookie Weidman’? You mean the 9-0 rookie Weidman who’s just defeated Maia and Munoz. Jon Jones was a ‘rookie’ 15 months ago.
– Never said I don’t want to see them fight, but belts are irrelevant in this fight. We’re not trying to see who will be the Middleweight or Welterweight champ, we’re trying to find out who the best fighter of an era is. It transcends belts. If Anderson cares more about the biggest drawing fights rather than defending the title then it’s time for him to hand it over.

No point in having an interim champion if the real champ isn’t injured and especially when both contenders have little hope of actually beating the champ. C’mon, Machida or Rua walking around with a belt, albeit an interim belt, would be a joke.

Who knows anymore. Jon Jones may look like the bad guy out of this but Dana White’s business practices surely must come into question too. Quickly becoming a farce.
UFC partly to blame for 151 cancellation mess
If the UFC had a stronger undercard and co-main event this wouldn’t be such a massive issue. The event could have continued without Jones, giving him time to prepare for his next opponent. Don’t condone what Jones did, but strongly feel the UFC is at least partly to blame and Dana White’s ‘sport killer’ comments at Greg Jackson are largely unjustified.
