So you read that and got that players should do what is right for them personally but the front office needs to decide if that will help them win.
I read that lomax should stick to the wing regardless of his preference and that latrell in choosing a team sport should chose to do what she believes is best for the team.
So no. Her article does not say individuals should be able to prioritise themselves and it’s up to coaches and management to value the team commitment.
The theme of the article is players should subjugate their wants because it’s a team sport.
Even the title, which I acknowledge she didn’t come up with but you can’t write the team player article and then complain about the team decision, that they NEED to put suppress their wants for the teams
The Kyrgios case of Latrell and Lomax: Star duo need to put what's best for the team ahead of individual interests
Did you read the article?
The Kyrgios case of Latrell and Lomax: Star duo need to put what's best for the team ahead of individual interests
It’s not an unrealistic extension to apply her situation of being both a corporate lawyer and a journalist.
In many fields it would be considered a career pivot also to move functions within the same organisation or way broader field.
Would you prefer if I phrased it a person can’t pivot careers within the same organisation or at the same time?
Happy for you to ask the Roar to amend it to such.
The Kyrgios case of Latrell and Lomax: Star duo need to put what's best for the team ahead of individual interests
It’s a blow sure but given their catchment area for juniors, and figuring out how the cap works, they’ll be fine.
This feels like a free option article. If nothing happens it disappears from memory, but if this is the breaking point it’s “I called it”

If the later I think the coaching staff last year is the first example which also suggested it is with the some of the playing group too
The Kyrgios case of Latrell and Lomax: Star duo need to put what's best for the team ahead of individual interests
I fundamentally disagree.
A person gets a say in what makes them happy. It’s up to the coach and front office to question if the divergence between that and what the team wants is acceptable.
If someone wants to pivot careers do we castigate them? Would you ban a corporate lawyer from becoming a sports journalist Mary?
I’d say our society is a more important team to me than the roosters.
It is pretty hard line Marxist to tell players their wants are meaningless.
The Kyrgios case of Latrell and Lomax: Star duo need to put what's best for the team ahead of individual interests
I’m sure it wasn’t brand new information.
But if it was something they’ve been working on that’s also a sign that they’re thinking longer term as they didn’t leak it to apply pressure on Penrith.
That would give clubs confidence you can have private discussions. Which for the only team in the region is something they want to be able to have.
Fisher-Harris on his way out of Panthers to join NRL rivals after 'one of the game's elite players' gets early release
Help…
Yep clearly this is just an innocent addition of midseason talent to make sure JD excells.
No way there’s anything to adding a guy with prior head coaching experience and a different defensive philosophy

Penrith will be fine, maybe they don’t win the final every year, but the bulls dropped to one of the worst teams in the league for around 5 years.

I’d take where they ended up in a head to head swap as well.

Cotter also says hi.
Seriously I thought this article was a parody at first
Wild idea but Blues should actually pick Origin team on form this time around - and that means Tedesco’s time is up
Really, the article is suggesting the exact approach that has undermined NSW.
Wild idea but Blues should actually pick Origin team on form this time around - and that means Tedesco’s time is up
This article is a perfect example of why NSW’s talent pool hasn’t dominated origin.

I think he’s arguing another club should get the top up and make it an offer they can’t refuse.
I’d imagine there’s some context omitted here

NRL Round 6 Talking Points: Concussion sub needs a fix, learning about 'disruption', why does everyone hate Gutho?
I don’t know you’ve got enough billions at Souths and Rusty seems like PVLs best friend.
Maybe it’s just there is no phone reception from the basement of the competition.
NRL Round 6 Talking Points: Concussion sub needs a fix, learning about 'disruption', why does everyone hate Gutho?
And that’s always going to be the issue, coaches will always adapt quicker.
I’d rather a referee using their judgement on rules they learned over 20 years than fircing them to dance the tune played by a room full of non-ciaches trying to out coach coaches
NRL Round 6 Talking Points: Concussion sub needs a fix, learning about 'disruption', why does everyone hate Gutho?
Yep we’ve now got 4 very different types of obstruction depending on if you’re:
– helping a team mate field a kick
– trying to disrupt an opponent fielding a kick
– running a decoy
– clearing the ruck as a defender
– clearing the ruck area as an attacker on a kick
Most of these are recent “adjustments “

They’re also more noticeable as they’re rarely in so far in front you don’t care if a call goes against you
NRL Round 6 Talking Points: Concussion sub needs a fix, learning about 'disruption', why does everyone hate Gutho?
Nope but if it’s deliberate or repeated foul play the rules have always allowed for a sin bin.
The same guys telling them not to do that we’re the same one inventing the solution to their self created problem.
It’s like making FGs more likely then having to come up with a new rule to make them harder.
Or pick your scrum option for great attacking set peices then gee we need fewer scrums

Exactly
NRL Round 6 Talking Points: Concussion sub needs a fix, learning about 'disruption', why does everyone hate Gutho?
As you point out they didn’t use it, it wasn’t that it wasn’t effective.
They created a whole new rule rather than just enforcing the current ones.
You’re still seeing cynical 6 agains without punishment.
NRL Round 6 Talking Points: Concussion sub needs a fix, learning about 'disruption', why does everyone hate Gutho?
The easy way to fix that was the sin bin, they already had a tool in the rule book to fix the problem.
As for “wrong” you consistently see inconsistency in their application. Is it more wrong than penalties, tough to say without tracking every game.

To be honest I had him at hello
