'Ready to go': Jaguares set for early return to Super Rugby if Rebels fall over
In Argentina the rugby is amateur. No money involved.
'Ready to go': Jaguares set for early return to Super Rugby if Rebels fall over
Why Jags will played without the internationals? All other teams play with internationals. Now days the internationals are playing in Europe as the top players will stay there, just like the ones from NZ, Sa, and AUS. However some will choose to play for the Jags and there many Arg players playing in lower divisions in Europe , also the Jags can grab three of four players from sevens which are the number one team in the world right now. Almost 100 players in the SLAR to choose from. It is a matter of putting together players from different sources, which admit it is a difficult task , and have them play SR for two or three years and for sure will be competitive.
'Ready to go': Jaguares set for early return to Super Rugby if Rebels fall over
Jags make sense to SR ( NZ) , I do not think has something to do with AUS.
'Ready to go': Jaguares set for early return to Super Rugby if Rebels fall over
It will take a couple of years for the Jags to be competitive again . A mix of older players coming back from Europe and young players with no international experience is what I expect from the Jags. But I expect them to be competitive faster than before because many player and staff have the prior experience.

I do not have high expectations!!! Jaja

There was a direct flight Bs As to NZ whenJaguares played SR
'Ready to go': Jaguares set for early return to Super Rugby if Rebels fall over
It will be cheaper than pay the bill for the Rebels. The bill it is not the issue, the problem is that there are not direct flights from NZ or AUS to Argentina. They will have to charter them.

The players are happy with Cheika and I am please too. It is difficult to coach a team where all the players are based in different leagues and countries with different coaches who have different needs and ideas. The bring them together and in a couple days train them they way you want them to play.
Also you must consider the players health , the amount of minutes they had played for the respective teams and the will of the clubs to lend them .

Come on! Obviously it was going to be imposible for the blazers that run WR to have 1_2_3 from the South in this cup .
'The players deserved better': Cheika's fury returns as England hang on against Argentina to win RWC bronze medal
It does not matter to me who safe or who is not, on the contrary. I would go with no game to move from Tier 1 to Tier 2. But it does not matter because this is so far away that many more changes will take place imo.
'It will kill rugby': Minnows feel shafted as World Rugby hails 'historic' revamp with exclusive Nations Championship
I do not think so because the Tier 2 would have never played a Tier 1 country in two years and the difference is massive . That is what their complain is all about it. They want to play more games against the top rugby nations and not just in the RWC.
'It will kill rugby': Minnows feel shafted as World Rugby hails 'historic' revamp with exclusive Nations Championship
How the promotion / relegation will play out? That is key. The top 2 from Tier 2 will play the bottom Tier 1? That would be so unfair. Well , I think we will never get to that due to financial difficulties . I just cannot see the economics behind this decision of WR, and for sure does not benefit the Tier 2 nations in the the near future.
'It will kill rugby': Minnows feel shafted as World Rugby hails 'historic' revamp with exclusive Nations Championship
Tony, my understanding this is such a long process that probably my grandchild’s ( I do not have any yet) will be a witness for country like Namibia, Uruguay would be able to lose for fewer than 30 points against Tier 1 Nations. Imo WR will not survive economically that long with this type of competition. The only chance is for the profesional leagues around the world go bankrupt and this tournament becomes relevant. It does not help any of the Tier 2 to compete against Tier 1 so they will arrive to the RWC in Australia again the needed competition to have a chance of not getting grill by the powerful teams. May be only Fiji and Japan, that already decent games , will be a bit better.

Confusing to me, Need more clarifications to have a valid opinion.
'It will kill rugby': Minnows feel shafted as World Rugby hails 'historic' revamp with exclusive Nations Championship
IMO the comment about the game that nobody wants to play only counts for NZ or SA from a very snobish point of view. I am very proud of playing for a medal and I think that 99 % of the other nations , including Ireland that have never reached a semi, would be proud also.
The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it
Here in Argentina he does not have the pressure from the press that he had in Australia. Los Pumas do not get the same winning demands that Australia imposes over the Wallabies where coaches do not survive if they do not beat NZ. So he can be more relax and he can also say he already achieved the goal of taken LP to the semis.

Los Pumas have nothing to loose next week, and they feel confortable being underdog . It seems that a new Tier 0 has emerged, NZ, IRL, SA, and France, then the Tier 1 with the other 4 that made it to the quaterfinals.

What a game , congrats Harry, pls say hello to Nick Bishop in my regard. I know he is there.
'Heartbroken': Springboks knock France out of RWC in dramatic, controversial QF as 'key moment' highlighted
Los Pumas love to be the underdogs. Many here count them off and I like that, we will see. Pool D has two nations in the semis. England unbeaten. The rest were second in their respected pools, that means that they were beaten . This the RWC and it is not similar to test matches , Six Nations, or RCH. With the exception of the England/ Fiji game the winers were the least likely to win by the bets. We should pay more attention to the RCH because is the place that were the RWC champions evolve.

Never, best finish was third in the last WC played in France.

Hi Harry, excellent topic. As an outsider my opinion is that AUS does not need SR and the end solution will be to have a kind of amateur tournament where the whole country will participate with 12 to 14 teams of lets call it top division, and another 12-14 teams you may call 2nd division, with promotion and relegation. Have the best players playing overseas ( they will probably do it anyway) and get them together together to represent AUS in the RCH and World CUPs. Put pressures in WR to have more international windows so they can play more often. Wait a few years and if the amateur rugby is working well try to develop a couple of teams ( if it is profitable) to play internationally in some type of SR.
'Curse the money all you want' but RA must work out what it wants from Super Rugby - otherwise the game is doomed
