Thanks for reading, yes my overwhelming feelings are that we will struggle for a few years but that hopefully it doesn’t become 5 years or more! Keen to see if that trough can be avoided
Flying high? Not likely, as the West Coast Eagles might be headed straight down
Thanks for reading and picking out a mistake Tappers. Not sure there are plenty as far as facts go. And yep I definitely understand and am a passionate fan of the team, hence my want for them to avoid what I think might happen!
Flying high? Not likely, as the West Coast Eagles might be headed straight down
Knights seems well regarded and Schofield is very well regarded so those moves seem positive, as long as Simpson gives them the rope they need
Flying high? Not likely, as the West Coast Eagles might be headed straight down
Gaff I agree with, and Gov’s contract will make people baulk, but Darling is still very capable of elite production and hasn’t really had too many injuries at all
Flying high? Not likely, as the West Coast Eagles might be headed straight down
Yes the assistant coaching changes are a great start, need either a change in midfield approach or some leg speed to make the most of what is still a really strong forward line.
Flying high? Not likely, as the West Coast Eagles might be headed straight down
No I haven’t but it makes sense given the way they play that they follow that mantra. Their ability to deliver on a bold vision has been incredible
Scrubs over stars
Appreciate the correction Darrin, I don’t consider it nitpicking – thanks for the clarification
Who's leading the AFL flag race after 14 rounds?
I tend to agree Danny, I am not normally one to place a heap of emphasis on one result but if the Crows were to win this weekend then wowee, the cat would be among the pigeons (no pun intended).
Who's leading the AFL flag race after 14 rounds?
Thanks Shane, the intent wasn’t to snipe Geelong, they are deserved flag favourites. The Dixon comment might be one of the stranger ones I have ever read; he wouldn’t carry Kennedy’s bags to the ground for mine. Sure he plays the odd dominant game but is very flaky
Who's leading the AFL flag race after 14 rounds?
Thanks Peter, Richmond definitely lurk as a spoiler if they get their game right, I just think their game style and the last two years have taken a toll on an average list
Who's leading the AFL flag race after 14 rounds?
I think Embiid will improve but Gasol is a tough matchup and Kahwi seems hellbent in regaining his position at the very peak of the NBA!
Is this the best NBA second round ever?
I agree, Harden is paying the price for being a perceived flopper. It will be intriguing to see how they referee Game 2
Is this the best NBA second round ever?
Thanks for reading, based on today’s game there is going to be some big adjustments needed by the Rockets to turn it around, plus lets see what the referees do after clearly blowing a number of calls on Houston 3 pointers. Not sure whether the Boston-Milwaukee Game 1 was an aberration or not, but Toronto will be near on impossible to stop in the East! Jokic v Lillard as two alpha dogs will be great to watch as well
Is this the best NBA second round ever?
Their success with mature-age recruits and the signing of Dangerfield and Ablett would suggest to me that they are all-in on flags. In any case, thanks for the feedback and thanks for reading Simon
Where do Geelong go from here?
Thanks for the feedback Jorge, and for taking the time to read
Where do Geelong go from here?
Thanks for your feedback. The direction is clear; their list profile says they are in the premiership window and yet in reality they are light years away. With another 4 years of Scott doing what he has done for the last 7 years, they will see Dangerfield, Selwood, Ablett and likely Hawkins retire without another flag and be left in a state of flux.
Where do Geelong go from here?
Thanks for reading Joe, you definitely make some good points and they could be used to paint an entirely different picture
Where do Geelong go from here?
Thanks fo the feedback Jai. I don’t know too many Cats fans who agreed with Scott’s extension. It smacks of accepting mediocrity, which is the opposite to how the club has run for years now
Where do Geelong go from here?
Great point Jai, one thing I have learnt is not to dare question the way the Dockers operate!
Where do Geelong go from here?
It would be good to hear a counter argument but in the absence of that, thanks for reading Don
Where do Geelong go from here?
Thanks for reading Jacques, pretty much sums up my thoughts. We can’t take away the fact he is a premiership coach, but he has achieved next to nothing in 7 seasons since then
Where do Geelong go from here?
Thanks for the feedback Don, if you take the time to read the entire article maybe you could see the logic
Where do Geelong go from here?
Maybe equalisation needs an article of its own, you make some good points – I personally would rather the Eagles contended, rebuilt and went again as opposed to having a chance every season. But I can see the merits as it continues to be a billion dollar industry and every fan counts. Thanks for reading
The AFL has problems, but not where they think
Thanks for the feedback and for reading. And for picking up the error in the number of Grand Finals. While I’d like it to be 2022 I’d expect 2025 at earliest
