Left Right Out?

All Blacks mull new position for Sonny Bill

Do the mods/eds on the roar actually get what “cry wolf” means? McCaw didn’t say he didn’t believe that Genia had the head knocks, he said he wasn’t aware of it. Sheesh.

All Blacks cry wolf over Will Genia's injury

“…and I wouldn’t want him on my ‘team’.”

He probably feels the same about you j-boy.

The Reds and Waratahs falter; the Bulls charge

Is this because you’re from capital country Brett? Reminds me a little of the green machine…

The Reds and Waratahs falter; the Bulls charge

“…where Matt Giteau’s loyalties lie and it’s certainly not with Australian rugby.”

You must be joking?! This sort of foot-on-the-throat, win-at-all-costs attitude is exactly what Australian rugby needs. MG’s been good all year but I thought he was great in this game. Have a re-think j-boy.

Hi Brett, this is Martin Snedden the CEO of org organising the cup – nothing to do with the NZRU or the rugby establishment. He has no influence over what hapens to the coaches pre or post world cup.

Christchurch quake won't ruin Rugby World Cup

Agreed muddie. It’s very rare to get to play with two great teams. Wives – that may be a different story….

Brumbies eye Highlanders to stop rot

Yep, pretty sure it’s Invercargill Brett, and with the amount of Southlanders in the Highlanders team it will feel more like a home game than Carisbrook.

Are you positive Jimbo??? 😉

Determined to find positives amongst Super Rugby woes

Maybe that’s it JB…here’s my Mumm report card – “tries really hard to the best of his ability”. Sorry Brett, that’s as positive as I can get on that particular subject.

Otherwise pretty decent weekend of Rugby with perhaps the only exception being the blues chiefs match. Intensity was OK but the weather made it a bit of a lottery.

Determined to find positives amongst Super Rugby woes

“from what ive gathered when going overseas most rugby fans not from big rugby playing nations tend to be boks supporters.”

Of course, they would say that to your face Nick. 😉

Dan Carter, SBW guide Crusaders to big win over Sharks

The pork knuckle is Dusseldorf is better than the schnitz Kat. 🙂

And didn’t I hear/see that Fagan was being groomed for the ARU CEO position? Well I’m sorry my friends, you require a spine for that role – no invertebrates need apply.

Is player power in rugby the way of the future?

Kafer is the RUPA president FFS. What else is he going to say other than back the players. Public opinion is firmly on the side of Andy Friend and Kafer bloody-mindedly refuses to admit the injustice. At least he could have declared his conflict of interest on this matter.

Is player power in rugby the way of the future?

Agree re: the Reds confusion about how to play Hoy. I was surprised when McKenzie seemed dumbfounded after the Waratahs game that the game had moved on from last year, and what worked then doesn’t work now. Talk about starting behind the eight ball this season…

The answer is simple: Reds are missing Braid

…and the fact that his two year stint was up (ARU stipulation). From what I understand, the Reds did request an extension but it was denied. Quirk seems more like a natural blindside to me. I don’t think McKenzie has anything to lose by trying one of his other options there, Liam Gill perhaps.

One wonders David if the same thing will happen to the Rebels in the medium term. Perhaps this “family/player power” culture things works when MacQueen is in charge and disintegrates into self-interest after he departs.

Has Larkham's scheming struck again at Brumbies?

I think the sentiment is absolutely right Craig, one fly in the ointment will be accommodation – or lack thereof.

Use the RWC to help rebuild a nation's spirit

Still unbalanced for mine Mike. You play three secondrowers and you get a loose trio that is a step behind your opponents.

Reds on the verge of Super Rugby greatness

“For 80 minutes, the Reds fluffed chances, gave away needless penalties, played large chunks of the match in defence, and yet at the full time siren, the score was in their favour.”

Hmmm, yeessss…..but…

The force were unlucky not to squeak a win in this game. What slant would you put on it if this did indeed happen? I’m with SMI – like a lot of teams last weekend the reds were below par from last season, but I think mainly because of the force gameplan and execution. I have a sneaking suspicion the reds will suffer from second year syndrome.

Reds on the verge of Super Rugby greatness

Between seasons rf, it’s always the same…lot’s of dross.

Melbourne Rebels jolted from Super Rugby dream

So we shouldn’t play cricket either Ratbag?

Melbourne Rebels jolted from Super Rugby dream

Mexicans. Can’t trust ’em, can’t shoot ’em.

Melbourne Rebels jolted from Super Rugby dream

>I highly doubt it will be several games of 43-0 though.

I highly suspect it will. I’m not sure who they play but the Reds, Bulls, Blues, Sharks, Crusaders and Stormers all have the talent and ruthlessness to completely pants the Rebels – home or away.

Melbourne Rebels jolted from Super Rugby dream

Well that’s more a result of the strength of the euro and the pound than the super rugby teams fault. If the euro-based PI players were still based in this part of the world a good number of them would be playing for at least the NZ teams.

Oh and while I’m at it…
