so Kearns says … Fox Sports commentator Phil Kearns was quick to lay the slipper into Hurricanes captain Dane Coles for not acknowledging the Lions in his podium speech – partly because Kearns can’t help picking a fight with Kiwis, and partly because the omission was immediately obvious and grating….I wonder what he or FOX said when Habana played his 100th game in Perth against the WBs, no acknowledgement, no presentation, NO NOTHING….and yet when they played the ABs in Wellington, a special presentation was made to Habana and Ma’a gave his jersey to JDV….is this all Kearns can say – of course he HATES seeing the ABs or NZ win so often it just kills him…but then the WBs are in a place of somewhere between 3 and 5 – and it wont get better.
As for comments about Cheika having his WBs longer before the first RC game – really, are they really benefiting from such a long time together, playing themselves and playing the Chookies in a hybrid game – what does that give them, in the meantime, NZ players are playing HARD FAST FURIOUS CONTACT rugby…I ask: who is the better prepared???

Infact HOMER – the current culture born from the post 2007 period – is now – you don’t OWN IT you leave it in a better place than when you first get it….I think that has been done better and more potently than any other rugby team on the planet earth. Right now, if you look at Damian McK – Hansen wants him disappointed at missing out, it will drive him, motivate him, he is still on the radar and when he comes back…you can bet your bottom dollar he will inherit the jersey and will also leave it in a better place when he finally moves on – and so the cycle of success continues…..

I guess someone had to put a positive slant on the disappointing performances (In Brief) but the harsh reality is that AUS rugby is not evolving, not developing under Cheika, how he got to the RWC 2015 final is a mystery at best given the performance against Scotland…but the final they made and then they were shown up by the ABs…against England they played like the final in the RWC, nothing had changed, compare that with the ABs against Wales and the differences were immense. Cheika has a lot to think about and to compound his problem is the sheer paucity of very good players…he keeps bringing back ‘oldies’ from overseas, what message does that send to the up-and-coming rugby players in Australia, no wonder the Chiefs did a ‘scouting’ day in Qld looking for very good and talented NZ-BORN youngsters with the carrot of – return to NZ and you will be developed, coached, skilled trained and eventually rewarded. Nothing like that is happening under Cheika’s watch….and to add salt to injury – on last weeks 360 Rugby, some muppet named Daley (a Red prop I think) kept mouthing off about how Aussie teams should just bash and monster NZ teams…ha!! didn’t work muppet, and he was a commentator/analyst on the show….come on Marto, you can do better than that…>!

It is still ONE-DIMENSIONAL – the Brumbies against Auckland were nothing but lineouts and rolling mauls…nothing else and the Blues just thumped them….in regards to the Tahs vs Canes – I actually thought the Tahs would win this one but again…….. nothing but a one-dimensional approach, and here’s the thing with the Tahs, you have a lock no-one can lift, and a wing who did the dumbest thing possible clearing out Beauden in the air….what else does he have besides size??? certainly no Jonah Lomu…meanwhile the NZ approach continues to morph, develop and get better….one player and one player only in both Aus games – Hooper would make the ABs all the rest are rubbish..
