At what point did McKellar join the coaching team?

Fan Rant: The ONE positive from Eddie Jones' lies - and how it could help Aussie rugby rise from the ashes

Isn’t it enough advantage that your forwards are pushing their forwards back at a frightening rate. Should be no penalty in such circumstances unless the team being pushed start peeling from the scrum.

Easy solution to players feigning head injury is if any player takes a knee, they should leave the field for an HIA. Running in tandem an independent doctor viewing footage to ensure players being hit in the head are fit to continue.

Also didn’t she away from arguing with the on field ref – a trait that Rennie would not condone.

'We're trying to bring them home': Everything Rennie said on Euro star strategy, brutal youth cull and Kurtley call

Quite different situations. The teams you mentioned play the rules up to a point where the ref lets them know, via blowing a penalty, that they have gone too far. In the case of the trainer he set out to abuse the rule from the outset. He was in no position to determine that a doctor may need to be called onto the field, from his position on the sideline.

The best position for the RC games would be to see neutral referees – this would likely mean Aussie refs for the Boks, ABs and Puma games.

Would be getting Tom Wright at 15 ASAP. Looks a quality act and the next two games give him time to start to grow into the role. Unfortunately Banks continues to be unimpressive at the top level.

VOTE: Wallabies player ratings vs France

Is part of protecting them looking after their mental health? While I in no way endorse their actions, I think most young men in the NRL situation need an outlet. I believe that the NRL Covid protocols are that the players can only leave home for playing, training and the other standard items such as health care. The party during a lockdown period was in no way acceptable – when not in lockdown surely getting together with others that you have sweated, spat and bled over for 90 minutes is not unreasonable.

Six talking points from State of Origin Game 1

Hi Nick
The Aussie SR packs invariably outweigh their Kiwi counterparts but rarely do they reach parity. When the NZ teams win the feed it seems we hardly make a dent against their scrum, however when we win our feed they manage to push us all over the place, the Reds being the exception. Is it training, fitness, desire, body types???

Get your questions in for Issue 15 of Coach's Corner

And therein lies one of the biggest issue with the game – being overly complicated. Often reported as having the lengthiest Law Book, it also needs guidelines to apply. My biggest frustration in watching SR is the incessant penalties that provide too great an advantage to the ‘offended’ team often for quite small offences. I would put the ‘long arm transfer’ into that basket.

The Brumbies have a perception issue only they can address
