Souths, Melbourne, Roosters, Manly, Newcastle, Cronulla, Penrith and the Broncos. These are eight teams that I think are likely to make the top eight…
Ivan Cleary is absolutely correct in saying Michael Jennings is not worth $650,000. Simply put, no centre is worth that much. I am waiting…
Top players make top teams not coaches. Managers make top players into great teams. Far too much gets made of the coaches' effect on…
I really enjoyed the Dally M Awards this year. I really, really did. As always, there will be plenty of debate about the winners.…
I disagree with you Ryan Jake had Gagai covered he was in no position to support Murray after he passed so much so Jakes gaze had moved on to Cam Murray. Murray had only eyes for player on his outside because of Jakes presence.
Yes, ten minutes in the sin-bin completely changes a football game. That’s the point!
I very rarely say this about the NRL but the timing is absolute GENIUS. Everyone is pumped watching the finals and the weekend is missing several games. I have been enjoying them cause I have Chronic EGLER. The standard is also great cause of the small quantity of teams. Everyone get on board the NRLW.
NRLW has learnt from AFLW's disrespect
Foxtel is changing its whole business model you can see happening before your eyes.
Stage 1 Soon it will be NETFLIX with Sport. You will pay 10 to 20 buck extra for the various sport packages.
Stage 2 Is NRL will be Subscription TV on it’s own. You pay $20 a month for NRL.COM Subs
What should the next NRL TV deal look like?
All the Sydney clubs rate very well on FOXTEL. Attendance is not relevant.
What should the next NRL TV deal look like?
Mary the bottom line is that someone in the NRL should have realised this was not going to get through to keeper and not done it. The fact that they don’t realise this means they are completely out of touch. Melbourne after the 2009 debacle should have realised that this also would not pass the pub test and told the NRL we dont need this.
The diamond ring is a Storm in a teacup
Bottom line when he started at the Knights 2 Million for 4 seasons was overs. He had played half dozen cameo role games.
Now after 2 seasons yes 500k is Unders but fact is they could make him play the next 2 seasons for 500k. Sure he deserves an upgrade from the 500k but I would suggest a fair figure is 750k for the next 2 on proviso that he signs for 4 MORE years at 1.1 to 1.2. Otherwise tell your story walking.
Better, stronger, faster: Kalyn Ponga is the Six Million Dollar Man
Yeah me and missus dont get to many games I will book the best ticket I can get next week for Manly and Canberra.
Eight talking points from NRL Round 20
Hi Geoff Manly Fan move to Canberra in 2002 for work so have a massive soft spot for raiders. There biggest game for them is the 4 point game against us. I reckon both teams and their hopes for TOP 4 could be sorted then.
Eight talking points from NRL Round 20
MRC disagrees with you. Jakes tackle was considered substantially less hence the lesser charge. The MRC watch replays for 2 hours before making the call.
Manly stun Storm with golden-point win
Jake should not have been in the bin and his charge of a grade 1 backs that up. The MRC and the referees boss last night on NRL360 there was a significant difference in the 2 tackles. (Cotric and Jake T)
Eight talking points from NRL Round 19
Upon review Jake T’s was not as bad Cotric. Graeme Annesley said this last night in NRL360. Maybe cotric was decision was harsh but they got it right on Jake.
"Ref's fault" culture ruining rugby league
Bottom line about Jake T’s tackle compared to Cotric is unfortunately for Nic it was deemed by MRC and then again on NRL 360 last by Graeme Annesley that they still consider that tackle as being different and one substantially worse than the other.
"Ref's fault" culture ruining rugby league
Tim a small part of your article which is absolutely spot on IMO. Imagine taking out late a player like at Cam Smith playing one or two off the ruck like he does occasionally when Brandon Smith comes on. The no name player gets put on report but Melbourne loose a player for 10 to 15 minutes for HIA at a minimum. When there is no threat of send off there is no downside to the attacking team. Five minutes later he cleans out Munster then he gets taken off.
Was the Cotric incident yet another false dawn for the send off?
I don’t like sledging. Well I am sure there is game of chess on Russian Pay TV with your name on it. To be perfectly on honest lets look at the too players. He called Scott a nobody and guess what he is. Outside the Melbourne system this guy would barely play reserve grade. He is being shopped around to other clubs and no one is biting with a subsidy. Dylan Walker even after all his issues is getting resigned and not shopped around. If I was coaching a team I would rip in to Scott cause he is a loose unit.
Was the Cotric incident yet another false dawn for the send off?
Agree with you completely about consistency Tim and Warren. I want send off’s and or 10 in the bin to be used more. I want punishment to be real time especially when your player get’s knocked out from foul play. On flip side if your meated a massive call like a send off IMO it should reduce your sentence cause the player and the club have been punished with for that foul play.
Was the Cotric incident yet another false dawn for the send off?
Not all Dragons have Sexually Transmitted Infections.
How the hell are the Sea Eagles contenders again?
Tom Dearden, David Fifita, Tom T , Katoni Staggs all played first grade at 19.
How the hell are the Sea Eagles contenders again?
Tim,
How long has the other Tim out of retirement now I know he is back with his trusty side kick Tonguey as I heard them against St George in the car ?

I am willing to bet most the negative John’s comments hail from state’s other than NSW.
Why all the hate for Cameron Smith?
Manly has the MOST potent weapon currently playing. If the manly pack can hold up against them he can take a team to a win against Panthers or Melbourne.
If Latrell/Walker have a day out they can give Melbourne a run.
All you need to be is in the game. You cannot get the rub of the green with 30 mins to go if your already down by 30. At the very least you need to be within 2 converted try’s.
Both Penrith and Melbourne can be put under pressure but you have be on the “leed lap”.
Manly were within a try with of Panthers with 7 mins go. If you can do this every time you give your self a chance.
The Sea Eagles are the only side that can match the Storm or the Panthers this year
