May name is Matt Ellis and I have a weekly show on 104.1FM in Gloucester chatting about the NRL and Cricket. Very much a family man who is blessed to be married to Erinn and sharing life with her and our son Jack. Playing, coaching and watching cricket consume my spare time. Favourite quote from the Commentary Box: "Take away the pain but leave the swelling" Richie Benaud after BC Lara was struck in the nether regions.

Love your work Sheek! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and the insights from Moises. Really good to hear that Test Cricket is still a priority and that the boys can enjoy the challenge and intricacies of T20 cricket as well. Moises has shown he has a lot to offer in the longer form of the game with some quality innings at the start of the Shield season, would love to see him finish the season as he started for the Blues. Great article!

Moises Henriques delivers his thoughts in chance meeting

It is great to see MEK Hussey playing the way he is at the moment. He has been overshadowed somewhat by the outstanding year that the skipper has had with the bat but his numbers are impressive in their own right.

I would have loved to have seen him in the Baggy Green sooner and who knows how many runs he may have had in his Test career.

On the flip side, making his debut later in his career certainly meant that he knew his game inside out and has been able to execute his skills consistently over an impressive Test career.

Here’s hoping he has plenty more runs in the tank for when the Ashes come around.

Mike Hussey is Australia's ole man river

Agree Don, it was a disappointing result yesterday, mind you Suzie Bates and Satterthwaite did a great job with the willow for the visitors. Not to mention the quality bowling from Rachel Candy.

Meg Lanning is in superb form, it was a shame she was run out as a ton was well within reach and would have had NZ chasing a few more.

I think Perry will make a massive difference when she plays, she is a genuine match winner and game breaker. While Sthalekar and Blackwell will have their say before the series is over.

Mitch must get to a few games, last summer he was having a trundle during the innings break of a Breakers match at Drummoyne Oval.

I hope that Alyssa Healy will get her chance in this series, she has been a key player with the Breakers and has plenty of runs in her.

Southern Stars looking to bowl White Ferns over

As a school teacher and junior coach I have seen first hand the positive impact the Southern Stars have had on the next generation of girls playing cricket. We are very fortunate to have such a great group representing our country and to be as successful as they have is a credit to their professional approach both on and off the field. Well done ladies!

Australian women retain World T20 Trophy in a thriller

Jess Cameron had an outstanding tournament and was instrumental in Australia winning the final against England a real quality cricketer!

Southern Stars set to soar in Sri Lanka

Yeah I agree Evan, he started out primarily as a batsman and would certainly look to use those skills in the lower order in the T20s. He has scored 4 hundreds at First Class level and his Strike Rate in the shorter form has been great.

Brad Hogg still a T20 matchwinner for Australia

Great to see him pick up a tidy 2-20 today with the rock against WA. Hope he can make a big score when he gets his chance with the stick.

Henriques needs to prove the doubters wrong

You are right he was outstanding for the Perth Scorchers in the BBL.

Brad Hogg still a T20 matchwinner for Australia

A great start to the Domestic Season with the bat today from SPD Smith, great to see him making a dominant 99 not out in Perth today. He has plenty of runs in him and will need to get them consistently this summer to keep his name in the mix.

Allrounder Smith's focus on batting

78 off 45 nuts is an impressive way to start the Domestic season for Henriques. Hopefully more knocks like that this summer from the all-rounder. Great to see SPD Smith making an impressive 99 not out at the WACA today also. Positive signs for Cricket NSW.

Henriques needs to prove the doubters wrong

GB Hogg is a crucial cog in the Australian team that brings a wealth of experience to the WT20 Tournament. He was outstanding in his ODI career and has shown he is well suited to the T20 format. Pleasing to see SR Watson claiming a couple of poles and keeping it tight as well.

Australia thrash NZ in T20 warm-up game, Warner takes classic catch

Great victory from the Australians. Starc again showing his value with the new ball getting another four poles and winning the player of the series. Interesting to see that Dave Hussey opened with Warner and Wade dropped don the order. Maxwell finished it off beautifully after Mr Cricket was at his usual best.

Pakistan vs Australia 3rd ODI: Live score updates

I will be interested to see the plan with Matthew Wade in the batting order. In the mid 1980’s Tim Zoehrer got his chance in the Aussie ODI side when it was felt that Wayne Phillips was carrying too much of a load opening the batting and backing it up with the wicketkeeping duties. Times have changed a little since then and in is more commonplace for a gloveman to carry both loads these days. It sounds like it is fairly oppressive conditions though, so giving Wade a bit more of a break could be be a sensible decision in the short term.

Mitchell Starc looks very ominous when on song and I think he still has plenty of improvement in him, this tour will be a great test for him.

100 Test Matches is still an outstanding achievement for mine. The physical fitness and mental toughness to play at the elite level and contribute to the success of your team to maintain a place in the side is a testament to those that reach the milestone. Well done Graeme Craig Smith!

How will Graeme Smith fare in his 100th Test at The Oval?
