Australian rugby doing just fine

I agree that it does more for both sports with her playing two then it does if she played one sport. You cant ask for professionalism on an amateur pay grade. Until the female sports get coverage and money ( and increase the inferior product of entertainment ) then you cannot expect her to choose between them. I would like to see more money in women sport but as a sport lover, I hate watching it because it simply isn’t as good as the mens version (for most sports). If I am going to spend my money, then it will be on something that has a greater entertainment value, hence mens sport. For womens sport to get to a level worthy of my dollars, they need money and awareness and if playing two sports brings those two things then Im all for elise perrys choice

Should Ellyse Perry continue playing two sports?

also different styles in defence.. Shooters out of the line can stop those sort of plays. The defending teams knows they are sending up one bloke so they form a line that covers for it. In todays game, the best option atm is hard accurate lines with a bullet pass. Then slight of hand and use a second man play. Otherwise offloads.. its always been about the offloads, just that its harder to do with stronger faster players. Still can be done, we just now call them freaks

ALAN JONES: We have the players, it's the coaches that are to blame

Totally agree with Sam, rugby is different these days and playing it NOW means that you become aware of the fact forwards are needed to defend one on one too. Its also the reason backs(myself as a 12) have to get in a ruck and pilfer. If not the other team runs the ball at the centres with a back rower, gets quick ball and then sends it to there backline on the other side of the field. Times have changed and if everyone keeps thinking that the 70’s and 80’s were the only way to play rugby, then they are as stuck in amatuerism as the coaches/boardmembers that they criticise
