I can’t remember who said it, hell it might have been my dad, but to this day I believe it to be true. If you’re in the team as an all-rounder, you should be able to solidify a position by just doing one thing (be it batting or bowling).
Not to say if you bat six you are the sixth best batsmen in the country, but if you were injured and couldn’t bowl, you’re presence in the team wouldn’t shock people.
Saying this, I like Marsh, I think he has grown as a bowler and given time and chances he will become a bowling first Andrew Symonds .
What to do with Mitch Marsh?
Not in my wildest dreams do I think the selectors will actually pick Tait or Hogg. In Hogg’s case it’s honestly just personal opinion that I don’t really rate either Boyce or Zampa (thus why I picked Beer). As for Tait, you’re probably right, but he’s actually bowled with relative accuracy and I think we could do a lot worse, but if Starc is healthy he slots right in there.
A completely biased and subjective T20 World Cup squad
Maxwell has only played 2 test matches so he didn’t come close to warranting a spot in my mind and even if i was only looking at shorter forms of the game he wouldn’t have made it close to the cut. As for Dhoni, Gilly was never going to be left out of the side and since dhoni has never not been the keeper i wouldn’t have felt right putting him in.
Swinging for the fences (Part II, the rest)
The openers position was chock full of big hitters so i couldn’t pick everybody and i probably would of had him still ranked behind Gayle and Jayasuriya.

This hurts to watch. When i saw the headline i thought he’d be down 5-0 in the set…but 5-4, come on now. People talk about needing the heart of a champion to be great, Tomic would be the exact opposite of that.
