Another absolute belter, Dan. Great way to start the weekend.
The Liebke Ratings: Australia vs England second ODI
Fair point Boris, the podcast actually spends the majority of time diving into what are the most important indicators of success rather than any sort of code-war discussion. I’ve changed the headline to better reflect this. And thanks for the feedback on the debut episode!
The Roar Podcast: What's the best way to judge a sport's success?
Definitely a topic worth looking into Stuart! Thanks for the suggestion
The Roar Podcast: What's the best way to judge a sport's success?
Thank for the feedback guys, just to clear-up re: code wars. Give the pod a listen, it’s more of a deep dive into how we judge sport’s success in Australia – an exploration of how the metrics work, and how much emphasis governing bodies put into considerations like grassroots rather than 30 minutes of arguing which sport is best. Have changed the headline to reflect this.

Top shelf banter, everyone.

You bloody beauty! This is going to be an absolute cracker – Ventura Storm for me, it’s no fun to go for the favourites.

Thanks Wayne, yeah I feel like we’ve almost got the balance right here in Australia – salaries are competitive but not grossly exorbitant (on the whole).
TELL US: Has money made sport better or worse?
Very thorough, Sheek! A lot of great points in there – the 24/7 nature of sports is something that’s really had a huge impact. A bit like the 24/7 cable news cycle in the States..
TELL US: Has money made sport better or worse?
Thanks JAS,
So very sorry to hear about your step-daughter – truly gut-wrenching and I can’t imagine what you and your family has been through.
Completely agree that it starts with changing the culture, I like to think we’re moving in the right direction but it’s bleedingly obvious we’re not moving anywhere near fast enough.

End of the 7th and Conor looks exhausted – great round for Floyd, a couple of big rights but to McGregor’s credit he’s still hanging on.
Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor highlights: Boxing live blog, round-by-round updates
I know we’ve seen these patient, conservative fights from Mayweather a thousand times before but it really is incredible to see McGregor stick with him for this long

It’s lines likes these that help ease the pain: “Leading them all was Josh Jackson with an influence on the match that was immeasurable, mainly because I couldn’t find his stats.”
Thanks Queensland, now I can never believe again
No apology necessary, Stuart – there can never be enough drinking games!
A State of Origin drinking game
Congratulations to all involved – some truly amazing and truly god-awful puns in there.

Damn it, save it for the show, Tim.

TELL US: What will the headlines be after State of Origin Game 2?
Sensational write-up of a fascinating period in Origin history. A series worthy of a long form of this quality – great stuff, Matt. (I involuntarily spat my tea out at the Wile E Coyote line..)
